Okay okay I did really love one thing here

I think I know-

 

When fighting Jenova, everyone gets their limit breaks except Cloud. With the ending implying he's in full denial that she's dead, I do like that touch a lot.

 

THAT was great.

Imagine that in

a better ending

 

And tbh

the idea that he's hallucinating her being there is firetrucked in a good way.

but it's not going to be that simple.

 

There are so many ideas here I genuinely love. Cloud being in denial about her death sounds great and it's something I want to see explored more because Cloud has always had a fractured mind.

 

And this hasn't come up yet but I feel the need to say

this is (not) shipping related, I really would have been fine with dead Aerith if they committed to it. But even then. Why tease it in the first place? Why tease just to not do it? That's not a red herring that's not subverting expectations it's deliberately lying to and firetrucking with your audience. But it's not even for an artistic statement it's for SALES.

 

 

It just really sucks that the excitement of that change when you have a multiverse going that's so confusing to understand
