first challenge next to impossible so I just turned them into frogs to get them out of the way so they wont also get stunned.

Cause they will just kill the side enemies first or get an unlucky stun causing them to explode

Chapter 14 spoils:

one issue I have with Jenova Lifeclinger: The music. It's awesome but i wish it stuck with being a version of Aerith's theme than switching to straight Jenova. To me, from a story telling perspective in OG, her theme playing was representing everyone being grief stricken and confused. In Rebirth it feels like "Ok sad parts over now SICK BOSS FIGHT TIME- WHAT THE firetruck IS UP DENNYS"

 

 

like the song is sick don't get me wrong, just a preference is all

 

 

Nah i get you. In the original it was just Aerith's theme and it worked great. While this "battle version" was good too, I think just playing her actual theme would have been better for the whole thing

 

 

Another thing I would have done is just disable all the attack dialogue people do

 

 

Like Yuffie's "Run like a chocobo" stuff

 

Same, it's small but it took me out of it

Aerith's theme in general I wish was worked better. In the OG after the opening notes it just EXPLODES with sound but her theme in every thing after that tends to slowly build up to it but never having that loudness too it that made it so effective. It's a somber, melancholic theme, but it isn't quiet either. It's a lot like sadness itself, it was perfect.

but, it's how I feel- I love the OG a lot, despite... well, everything that came after it.

 

 

It was so jarring hearing them say their cool cocky one liners- like they took the effort to alter Barret's dialouge for the Dyne fight why not here?

 

One thing I want to point out that's so frustrating for me with this game

I don't even mind new stuff that's going on. Hell, I don't even mind new stuff that's going on that hasn't even been resolved yet.

 

 

The stuff with Rufus, Wutai, Sarruf and Glenn? I absolutely love that new addition. Despite me finding Sephiroth to be overused in Remake, him trying to make a whole continental war between Wutai and Midgar is excellent and I love that set up for part 3

 

 

I like the stuff with Chadley and his robot clones that Hojo has

 

 

I love what they have done with Roche and I can't wait to see what they do with him in part 3, most likely going to be the final Jenova fight through him

 

 

There are so many new things that I find really good and actually interesting

 

 

But then you have multiverse and maybe even time travel that doesn't jive with anything going on

 

 

At least with the Wutai war you can see what it can lead to. It will lead to development for Yuffie who will definitely drag the party into. You can see where the stuff with Chadley leads to. It will have something to do with the return to Midgar when the whole party goes back there again.

 

 

The multiverse right now is just so far away from everything. It's related to Sephiroth's goal but the issue is you don't actually interact with it in any way. You had that one "fake" date with Aerith, but I don't see a reason to go back there. I don't see a reason for the party to suddenly be multiverse hopping. Maybe Zack will be multiverse hopping but I don't see why he would suddenly gain the power to do that or what that will lead to.

 

They have to be related in some way

 

Sephiroth's endgame still seems to be the same. Summon meteor so he can damage the planet and take over everything on it and then move on to the next one. But we still don't have an answer two games in on why he needs the multiverse.

 

I still say Elena and Tifa are related
