no they won't because it's way harder to make an entirely new game than something like Rebirth that has already a structure

unless they reduce the amount of zones and the content

yep just make FF16 style zones with more to do in them

octopath traveler 2 did this right from a 2D game perspective. each part of the map in octopath traveler 2 has one or two optional dungeons and treasures with loot to find

they just need to use this mentality + add more minigames

or other variety of content

I think I misspoke, what I mean to say is, I just wonder if it's a model they can/will commit to

I can see that they would do it if it's possible from a budget perspective

money and time is the biggest factor

they have no reason to not commit to rebirth's formular

because it's proven to be successful

Cause tbh I think they've done great in building their worlds in Rebirth and 16- really gave me the feel of specifically the PS1 Era of FF games

we can already see this in FFXIV. FFXIV stopped trying to reinvent its wheel because people only want Shadowbringers style expansions

Plus ya know it's Final Fantasy- I kinda going into it expecting large big production stories - not saying I need it but, it's so associated with the IP

See part 3 is gonna cost even less cause they now have assets from the last 2 games. But New FF doesn't which is a challenge. Probably for like a monster or swords they port but starting from scratch is always a factor

and XIV gets nowadays a lot of criticism for doing always the same

and because of XIV I can see SE reusing Rebirth's style again

Ye that's the point I was trying to make

Even still tho it sounds like 16 and 7R2 had almost the dame dev time

Well let's see

Since 7R2 had groundwork to work with tho they I think had more time and ability to give it the ol spit shine

CBU3 also had a MMO to run

I do have to say that it's impressive that SE wants to reinvent the wheel with every FF because usually japanese companies aren't known for taking risks

according to Hofstede's risk aversion index japan is one of the countries that is the most risk averse iirc

CBU1 is doing parts and expanded midgar to be a full game while the also having to create the whole world map of part 2

So yeah it taking so much time makes sense

yes

CBU2 is DQ

I think that's dq
