But, because of the lack of definitive clarity, I feel it hurt the overall experience for me.

Like because it was what it was, I can still go back and play Rebirth, and I will, but, Remake's ending annoyed me, this one just frustrated me. For various reasons.

I liked Remakes ending more than this

this was just...

oof

The thing is that

I feel like the is a really great ending here, but it's covered up by one too many convoluted layers that it just takes away the moment

sometimes I wonder if FF would be better if they would just focus on showing character interactions with a simple plot instead of doing this convoluted shit because that's why Shadowbringers was so good

I love a good mystery. And I like ambiguous story telling. But this just felt confusing for the sake of it. For the sake of "getting people talking."

And normally I'm all for it.

But, as I told Otti and everyone else, I'm just--- I have no patience anymore haha. Not for 7, anyway.

I see people make fun of these games and compare it to Kingdom Hearts, but know what the difference is between the two? KH does give you new questions each game.

But it has the decency to answer* *old ones first before/as it adds/asks new ones. It's fun, it's part of the experience. This just feels like it's like

"we need a cliffhanger for the sake of maintaining relevancy."

KH honestly does a better job regarding the theorizing because they only drop this stuff when the game is already over through secret endings and superbosses

Like genuinely

If they didn't have areith show up after the battle was over, by whatever explanation they end up giving, it would have immediately made the ending better, but since they had to pull the "Oh is she dead, is she not" shit, it just diminishes the impact of the moment

the good thing is they can't firetruck up part 3's ending because apparently FF7 fans hate og FF7's ending

so the bar is really low

Exactly. Plus it creates a bigger issue for me,

What was the point,

of putting so much emphasis on whether or not Aerith is going to live or die?

It feels like it hindsight just a marketing tactic.

I don't know why. I think OG ending was good

they just can't handle the ambiguity

same for FF16's ending

ugh...

Oh yeah Cole lol, btw

Did you get by what I meant by "you'll see" in regards to the whole

Golden Saucer date thing?

So, minus of course

Cloud and Aerith's little dream(?) date, and, well, the ending of the game, the credits no matter what your playthrough was, only shoes clips of Aerith's date(s), and moments, and none of Tifas.

Saw a loooot of streamers salty about that

.....

That's.......a design choice alright

part 3 ending spoiler
