Looking for adventure!

I've recently obtained a wonderful new freedom. My own car.

It's a Chevy Cruze (not cruise) and it has like a dark grey color (but depending on which angle you view it and the time of day it looks like different colors <8D). One thing about it I really love is how I can do hands-free calling using bluetooth (if necessary) with my phone and I can talk through the car instead of having to hold my cell phone.

It's a wonderful car, and my baby. <3

I got it around thanksgiving, so I've had it for a while.

My new freedom can only go so far. B|

But the car is only part of the reason why I've made this thread.

You see, my parents think I'm too "inexperienced" Even though I've been driving as much as possible (which is a whole lot) for the past year to drive it on my own. So every time I have a chance to drive, they don't allow it. Me personally, I feel like they're holding my hand and are afraid to let go. Sure, I'm still learning, but I'm never going to learn if they don't let me go do things on my own. I'm tempted to just take the car myself one day and face the punishment they've threatened me with. They can't stop me from driving. D;

I don't know, I just feel no point in them getting me the car now if they aren't willing to let me go on my own. What am I going to do? Drive away and never come back? xD I mean seriously......

But, in other news school starts soon. Which means more National Honor Society bs stuff. D; -- I might be a little busy with that, work and soccer. But eh, I'm looking forward to finishing my Junior year and moving on to my last year in high school, and then college! My select soccer team went to the play-offs last season, It left me hyped for the next season, I want to go all the way and win state! <8D

But ugh.. I take my SAT this month.. I'm not nervous right now. I've been using this giant book full of practice tests to prepare for it but idk... I'll probably get nervous as it gets closer. Wish me luck~

I know how you feel :/

When I got my car this year (I'm not old enough to drive on my own anyways yet), my parents were super strict about me driving, even though they had to be in the car with me. I can see why your parents are kind of iffy about you driving, because the common stereotype today is "Teenagers can't drive, they get into accidents and kill themselves". I suggest you ask them to go with you on drives and display your skill to them, and maybe they will change their mind about your experience level.

And I'm getting ready for SATs too T_T

that sucks, when i get a car i will want to drive AS MUCH AS IS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.

seriously, just ask them if you could drive it yourself. you have a license, you passed the test, there's no reason why they can't let you

Goodluck you two on the SATs! ;D Just keep practicing you'll do well! And you need to stand up for yourself and tell your parents you are just going to see friends or shop or something ;D maybe they'll let you go if you tell them where you will be or are at. You better come pick me up in your Chevy Cruze... <3

Goodluck on your junior year and enjoy everything as it lasts. :]

Hmm... Interesting. well that sucks, lol

well I hope your parents let go of your baby hand soon. But they're really just trying to protect you because they care about you many people's parents don't.

And goood luck on those SAT's! I'm not 100% sure, but are those those tests you guys do every year? I remember doing some test with a similar name on the end of 3rd grade there, :P Of course I'm probably wrong xD.

@SK3: Yeah.. I can sort of understand why they're not letting me. But ughh. xD And yeah D; SAT's are killer.

@Kool: That's what I thought to, but when I asked them the first few times they freaked out and said no. D; -- But there's no harm in trying again! ;D

@Danne: Your car sounds old. -- But speaking of pictures.

I cbf to go outside and take a picture. /shotPosted Image

@Kinode: Yeah, they're at least thinking what's best for me.... in their minds, and thanks! But no, the SAT's are something you start taking when you get into high school, most usually start taking them around Junior year, but some have started earlier or later than that. It's something colleges usually look at, so it's something everyone should at least consider doing if they want to go to a good college.. which most usually either highly recommend or require taking it, and/or the ACT (In the United States.. at least. xD).

Some places like in the U.S. for example have standardized tests you take each year, but the name varies depending on where you live. Like mine is called "TAKS." (Texas Assesment of Knowledge and Skills) -- That's kind of what you're talking about? : O

my explanations always fail.

I have a Ford Laser Liatra LXI 1997.

Not bad, eBay? Lol?

I'm just using eBay to show people the car model? Not that I bought it on eBay? Stop being awesome and putting unnecessary question marks?
