L button: Is it really necesarry?

Posted

For some reason, the L button on my DS doesn't work. So far, I have been able to go through Re:coded without it (even though Cerberus is a real pain what with me not being able to use my licences...) but is there any part of the game where the L button is needed, no questions otherwise you die? If so... I'm screwed.

I'm fairly certain the only use for the L button is to cycle through your command deck. You press that and either X or the D-Pad depending on your configuration.

blow in the L to fix it

It's the way you cycle through your commands and I'm not sure how else you'd cycle through them unless you just stick with the middle command throughout the game. ._.

believe it or not i swear to god this was funny to me but my friend r buttom didnt work then his brother poured milk on it and now the R buttom works that was so funny xD

are you being ferealz!? ahaha! xD

you should make a motivational poster stating

"Milk: it helps build strong bones AND DS's"

You also need the L-button to cycle through commands and if you want to use potions, high potions, etc.

fool. you're lucky. Both my L and R buttons don't work.

I've sent mine back to be repaired for that same problem several times. Last time, they replaced the DSi with a new one. Guess what? I just mailed it back to them for repair again on Monday. It's a serious flaw in some of them.

If it's still under warranty, you should check into sending it in for repairs.

That's how my GBA is.

Also, in Olympus Colleseum, you press L and Y to change between your Licenses and your regular commands. Though I didn't really use the Licenses until the Cerberus and Hades fights.

If you can get used to using X to scroll through commands rather than L, or just use the first command that you see, then yeah you should be right. Oympus Colosseum is really the only place you'll find yourself needing it. And as for potions and that you can just chuck them in command slots and use them in command slots.

In options you can change the control scheme, although I'm not sure what it changes it to if you select another option. It might get rid of the need for the L button.

Well, I'm past Olympus Colliseum now. I'll just make do with using every command in my arsenal to get to the one I want.
