Dual Wielding in Future Kingdom Hearts Games

Posted

Sorry if there's already a thread for this. But do you think there will be dual wielding in Kingdom Hearts: 3D? On one hand I think there might be; 3D's story is about Keyblade Mastery. Then again, some people theorize that in the "dream" Sora and Riku will be as they were in KH1. So wouldn't that make it impossible?

Anyway, I personally want to dual wield in 3D (who doesn't?). After all, when Ven's revived, Sora will probably lose that ability. 3D might be the last time we can dual wield. But what do you guys think about it all? Do you think there will be a way for Sora to dual wield in future titles?

Judging by the gameplay we saw in the trailer, there most likely won't be any dual wielding involved in KH:DDD. And it's also stated that the plot of KH3D won't just revolve around having Sora and Riku taking the Exam. Just part of the game will revolve around that. And Ven didn't give Sora the ability to dual-weild keyblades. He gained that ability when Roxas merged back with Sora. Ven's heart only allowed Sora to weild a keyblade.

But who knows, we might see more dual-weilding in future KH games. They may not just be showing Sora only dual-weilding keyblades. But other characters as well such as Roxas for example.

It would be cool to have the keybladers duel-wield. Sora only duel-wield when he was in a drive form (except for wisdom). Normally he only has 1. Roxas just owned the duel-wield against Axel and Riku. Maybe Sora can do the same as Roxas and wield 2 keyblades without using one of his forms.

Maybe. But that's not really an ability that Sora seems able to do very much, since he only did it in certain drive forms. If it turned out to be some sort of finish command or a new type of thing, simmilar to the command styles of BBS, well then that would be great.

He can weild 2 keyblades with out going in a Drive Form. Nomura said it. And yes I think there will be dual-wielding in this game. The whole entire game dosen't revolve around KH1. And also we only saw one video of the games gameplay and they could change it up. So I think its too late to judge something like that. And I dont know why every one keeps on assuming Sora will lose his dual weilding powers when Ven comes back. Theres no actual proof.

Yeah, I hope we get to play as Sora and Riku in their KH2 forms. I know that the exam isn't the entire game, but won't it be the majority of it? And judging by that one interview with Nomura, I thought they were only going to be in their KH2 clothes in the beginning. And isn't he only doing that so people know it's not a remake? Anyway, I really hope we get to play in their KH2 forms and dual wield.

About Roxas' ability to dual wield: I thought Nomura said that Roxas was using Sora and Ven's Keyblades. So if none of Roxas' Keyblades are his own, wouldn't Sora's ability to dual wield come from Ven? Roxas merging with Sora awakened the ability, but I bet he was capable of it all along.

Ugh. I really hope we don't lose the ability to dual wield after Ven comes back. But as Razorwind Keyblade said, it's just pure speculation. Let's hope it stays that way!

Also, do you guys think there will be summons in Dream Drop Distance? Days, BbS, and Re: Coded didn

BBS had D-Links which is similar. But I think they will be in KH3D and KH3.

Triple wielding or higher I say.

The D-links were nice. But it was still a bit lonely. LOL If only you could have called friends to you (like in CoM).

I imagine that you're right. Summons will be in 3D and KH3. Maybe 3D will have something similar to D-linking. After all, it seems that Sora and Riku are going their own way. So I imagine that's really the only way they'll be able to fight alongside each other.

So does anyone else think the game will be a lot like BbS? Showing up in worlds at different times, having different goals and actions in those worlds. I just hope Riku doesn't get tricked into helping out Frollo.:s

I think KH3D will be a little different than BBS. And Riku will probally get tricked by Frollo. And hnw is Sora gonna wield 3 keyblades.

Yeah, I could see dual-wielding in the game as some of special move, or arranged by Command Boarding or something. D-Links and Summons would be nice, too.

I TOLD you.

Because it's awesome.

Thats not a good reason. There would have to be a logical explanation.

Well, there was that reaction command when you fight Roxas in KH2FM+, but they were in the Station of Awakening. I don't see how Sora would be able to triple wield (is that what you'd call it?) in the real world...

But if Nomura wants triple wielding, he'll undoubtedly come up with a reason for it.

I so want Command Board in another KH game! I thought it was a very fun and clever idea. Other fans want to see it again, too.:D

Count me in too. I would love to see it in KH3D and KH3.

dual wielding would be fine with me. i particularly liked the finishing moves made possible by sora's dual wielding.

Why can Data Sora throw three keyblades at once?
