I got this from my math teacher...apparently it's easy. I got all of them right. I want to test you guys, to see if you can get the answers right. For you answer, put the number for it. So here we go:
1) If a docter gave you three pills, and told you to take one every half hour, how long would they last?
2) A farmer had 17 sheep. All but nine died. How many did he have left?
3) Without a calculator, divide 30 by a half and add ten. What is the result?
4) Take two apples from three apples and what do you have?
5) There is a ten-foot steel ladder attached to the side of a boat. The rungs on the ladder are exactly one foot apart with the bottom rung resting on the top of the water. If the tide rises one foot an hour, how long will it take to cover the first three rungs of the ladder?
6) You have 4, 5, and 3 haystacks and you put them all together. How many haystacks do you have?
7) Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get on. In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on. In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?
http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-cool.png There is $21.00 in 1 dollar bills that has to be split evenly among the 2 fathers and 2 sons. How is this possible.
9) To the nearest cubic centimeter, how much soil is there in a 3m x 2m x 2m hole?
10) If you were to fill a 10 gallon hat with water, how much water would it hold?
