Hence why i dont have live I would get it, but meh.

I have xbox live but I haven't really been on it ever since College started for me. I also only add people that I've know or have been talking to.

my brother has an x-box live account...not me though. I don't want to have to buy a 1 year membership card and create a new account where I'll lose all of my achievements from my old, non-online accout...That's what he did..so yeah. Plus, I suck at Halo 3 online

Huh? you don't need to make a separate account for xbox live. You can just use that same account that you've been getting achievements on.

2. click sign me up and create an account by selecting an email address you want to use for it, make a password, enter your b-day, etc.

3.Select Membership by either buying the subscription there, use the code from one of those subscription cards you buy in stores(or those free trial cards you get in some games) or select don't get xbox live gold which gives you a free xbox live silver. I would pick the last option because I heard right now you can get a 1-month trial to xbox live gold for only a $1 at the moment.

4. Then accept the agreements and you're done.

well a Xbox 360 Arcade storage is 256 MB and if you look at the back of boxes on both gta and halo it will tell you how much space it takes.

Hmm. I signed up for xbox live around early spring of last year so its been awhile since I did it(before the NXE came out). Your brother is probably doing something wrong then. Where did it say to create a new account & did he do it when he sign in his profile?

Like I mention earlier, you can make a free xbox live silver for now. You just won't be able to play against people online with it. The thing that bugs me the most about this situation though is how did your brother lose those gamerpoints? The only thing I can think of he is that he somehow deleted his original profile from his HDD.

no, he didn't delete it. he had to create an account with a xbox live pre-paid card. And before that the xbox was connected to the internet, but it was on a different account, i think it was my dad's. idk, we've had that 360 for ever so who knows what we could have done to the options back when we had no idea what xbox live was!
