PSP Titles Being Remastered for PS3

Posted

Sony announced today that they are going to remaster PSP games. The games will be shipped in Blu-Ray on the PS3 in japan first.

The games will be customized and developed especially for the PS3. It will include Six-axis support, add-on content, and also stereoscopic 3D support. Also, save files will be transferable back and forth to the psp game and the ps3 game. Ad-hoc gameplay will be supported though the Ad-Hoc party application in the PS3 (Note that the app is not supported with the 20Gb (CECHB00)which doesn't have WI-FI).

As it says in the topic desciption, the first game to be remastered is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. from Capcom. Sony said the graphics for the ps3 version, including monsters, fields, equipment, as well as Felyne Comrades, will be gorgeous and vibrant as ever and will deliver dynamic gameplay when played on the large tv screens.

No other details ,as the europe or north american release plans, were announced. The press release notes that PSP blockbuster games will only be remastered, so the selection will only be top-selling.

this cool news,hopefully it comes in eup and na.There is tons of good games to remaster for ps3

I'd rather see the games remade then remastered. All they're really doing is porting them.

well if bbs does et hopefully they do it for bbsfm so everyone can play it.

Gosh dang it, Sony! All you do is remake! First Classics HD and now this!

I mean, it's nice and all, but if all the good games are remastered on the PS3, it defeats the purpose of having a PSP. >.>

THIS IS SO COOL. But it makes me mad a little. I spent extra money to get wires to hook my PSP up to my HDTV. And I use remote play with my PSP/PS3 all the time. These games will basically make that pointless. :C

fool. First psp, then maybe ps2 games. mmm.

Of course Monster Hunter is first, because it's the best game in Japan. Hmm....maybe I'll hold up on doing that free trial of Playstation Plus so I can download BBS if it comes out on PS3.

@Rose Riku

You could always sell the wires. Just saying.

Parasite Eve should be on PS3

It is. It's under PSOne Classics. I just can't make it work! (Oh yeah, I need to tell them that...)

I think Sony wants people to be able to experience the greatest PSP games on their PS3 - bigger, better, etc. But then still have the games for portable-ness on their PSP. Also, people who have a PS3 but not a PSP can experience these games now, and not only that but there's a new generation PSP coming out soon - so I'm sure once these games are released, more people will be trading in their old PSPs to get the new generation ones. More money for Sony and more entertained customers.
