In the cutscene prior to the battle of 1000 heartless, Sora, Donald, and Goofy wield their basic weapons (Kingdom Key, Mage's Staff, and Knight's Shield, respectively). However, when the fight starts, they(sora) carry their(HIS) equipped weapon.

 

This is because the cutscene was pre-rendered and is probably because of the high amount of objects that were in the area

Yes, this is something everyone who has ever seen or played KH2 knows. Just like the scenes at the end of KH1 always has the Kingdom Key no matter what Keyblade you used to defeat Ansem SoD.

This is just really old news. They did this because there were so many other images and things on the screen at once they had to have Sora, Donald, and Goofy wield their original weapons. Also you need to get your facts right becasue a lot of people that have played KH2 know this.

That's because it's the original scene before they took out Behemoth's and Wyverns. They used that version for Re:coded though.

Yeah but another thing about that acene is there are a whole bunch of behemoths in the heartless group yet you never get to fight them even though i think that would be a lot more fun.

tutti frutti. I knew about the whole scene with the weapons. Though I was more disappointed that we didn't get to fight the Behemoths and the Wyverns in the 1000 Heartless army. When I saw the Trailer, my reaction was "Sweet we get to fight a crazy challenging army," though when I got my hands on the game and played the part I was disappoint. Even though I do have to admit it was still pretty fun nonetheless.
