Sitting too close to the TV will not ruin your eyesight. [i dont think thats true]

It's true, sitting close to the TV won't damage your eyes, or do any permanent damage atleast. Not unless you were watching a program that had fast blinking lights, but then all it causes can be headaches and seizures -coughPokemoncough-.

Sitting close to the TV when it's on can strain your eyes, give you a headache, maybe make you feel sick, but it won't make you short sighted or damage your eyes in any way. I used to sit close to the TV, and I'm short sighted but I have been all my life. :]

The only common thing that can permanently damage your eyes is the sun and staring at it through binoculars or a magnifying glass. That's why you should wear sunglasses on a sunny day.
