Would you want a remake of this game?

Posted

So I saw a thread asking if anyone would want a remake of this game for the 3ds and people seemed to be against it and I was too since there would be no reason to keep it on a handheld if they remade it. But I wouldn't be totally against the idea of this game coming out on console because, personally, games on consoles always seem better than on handhelds, so even though I think coded is somewhat ok right now I think it could be better with it being remade for console.

A good example, IMO, is chain of memories. When it came out for GBA I bought it because my all my friends had it and they convinced me to get it. When it was remade I got it first day and I played through both stories on all difficulties, I was addicted to it. That isn't the perfect example because chain of memories was my first KH title so I didn't know what to expect, and by the time it was remade I had already played the crap outta KH 1 and 2, plus I was older and could appreciate it more.

Anyway I kinda strayed away from my question. Would you want it on console? Why or why not.

There isn't really much point to remake a remake. They got all they could out of Re:Coded for the DS, there isn't really much else they could add to it.

I voted yes simply because of the fact that I'mm not getting a DS/3DS if I can avoid it, but I still want to play Coded

  • I felt Re:Coded just wasnt that good. Maybe if they redid days I would get it, but not coded

I suppose I can give you that. But there are many ways they could have conveyed that without losing all the 'tear jerking' moment. Or they could have made Roxas slightly more mature. He has been around for a year in the stronghold of 'Super Villains'. You'd think he'd pick up a thing or two. It wouldn't have taken much to change 'who will I have ice cream with' to 'But what about all the ice creams we never shared!' or something to that effect.

In the the Japanese version the line originally was "Let's eat ice cream again, the three of us..." so I suppose the translation team can be partially blamed for that, the English line even excludes Axel. But, iunno, I kind of like the new line, as goofy as it is, because they're not trying to make a character who's mentally and emotionally underdeveloped all of a sudden mature enough to grasp the situation at hand for the sake of keeping things romantically dramatic. I think it shows that Roxas, at the moment, simply couldn't comprehend death, or at least not know how to handle the initial shock. But that's just me.

As for Roxas being more mature because of him being in league with "Super Villains"? That's a whole other can of worms. I understand the reasoning but I wasn't a huge fan of having Roxas be that Immature either but I guess that can be chalked up to him not interacting with the other villains much. After just a few weeks half of them were eliminated, the rest Roxas only talked to occasionally because they mostly did missions alone, and he restricted himself to Axel and Xion. Lack of interaction can be to blame pretty much.

1.) This is why I need to learn Japanese. A lot more fulfilling than the Spanish they teach at school at any rate.

2.) That wasn't what I meant. I know Roxas was immature, I just felt that he could have stood a little 'growing up' especially seeing how he acted in KH2. But then again, that could be attributed to Xion's death leaving some impact on his 'heart'. Even if he couldn't remember.

3.) Yeah, now that you mention it, Roxas was a shut in and more emo than Zexion could ever be. I suppose that pretty much voids my 'super villain' argument.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'd like to have it remade as cutscenes which would then be part of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix for the PS3.
