Cartoon Network really has some shi77y cartoons on these days

Posted

In case you haven't heard, some guy on youtube named PingasGuy made a petition to help CN realise how much ppl want the 90's classics to come back.

We currently have 427 signatures (Destai_Dream_XIII and *Rikku* contributed) our goal is to have 10,000 (that's a lot I know).

The link to the website is right here: http:// http://www.petitions...artoonCartoons/

The Crappy Era of CN (2004-2011)

Remember Cartoon Cartoon Fridays from the late 90's? Yeah well that used to be the best Cartoon Block on TV. This was one of the greatest things that ever happened to Cartoon Network. I'm sure millions of people would watch Cartoon Cartoon Fridays with excitement. Kids these days know nothing of the greatness Cartoon Network used to be.

I mean seriously how can you watch Chowder, Adventure Time or Johnny Test and call it funny? Seriously Chowder is just a rip off of SpongeBob with the comedy and the writer must be a SpongeBob fanatic becasue the show has a lot of similarites to SpongeBob. Johnny Test isn't really a CN show because it cane off of WB Kids so it gets a freebee. As for Adventure Time... please don't even get me started.

The Golden Age of CN (1997-2003)

Ahhh, these were the good days. Coming back home from school on a Friday night watching Cartoon Cartoon Fridays (oh well of course you would not remeber these memories if you were born during the 21st Century). Even during Cartoon Networks Golden Age there were not a lot of great shows.

Cartoon Networks Golden Cartoons (or classics)

Dexter's Labratory

Cow and Chicken

Johnny Bravo

Ed Edd and Eddy

Courage The Cowardly Dog

The PowerPuff Girls

Time Squad

Sheep In The Big City

Samurai Jack

^These are classic cartoons. These are what kids from the 90's used to watch. These are what kept Cartoon Network from running out of buisness. These are what allowed Cartoon Network to compete with Disney and Nick. These are what you 2002 kids need a dose of.

All I'm saying is the sh^t that comes on Cartoon Network these days is just pure manure, not funny, idiotic, and totally ruined CN. This was back when Cartoons were actually watchable.

Cartoon Networks Silver Age

Kids Next Door

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Camp Lazlo

Star Wars The Clone Wars

These cartoons were okay but not comparable to the classics ^above.

Cartoon Network Pure Manure Age (2004-2011)

Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi

Flapjack

Chowder

Robotboy

Squirrel Boy

The Secret Saturdays

The Amazing World of Gumball *Epic Shi77y*

Adventure Time *Epic Shi77y*

Regular Show *Epic Shi77y*

My Gym Partners a Monkey

Ben 10

And the list go's on...

^These were some of the shows that messed up Cartoon Network and the main reason why people don't watch it anymore.

CN Real

The OtherSiders

Destroy Build Destroy *Extreme Sh7t

BrainRush *More Sh7t*

Tower Prep

Dude What Would Happen?

Okay I take back what I said before. The main reason why Cartoon Network is losing so many viewers is because of CN Real. CN Real has a whole bunch of live-action shows that involve stupid kids doing stupid sh7t. It's not even entertaining and a lot of people over the interntet hate it. People on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Forums, everyone hates it.

And the worst thing about CN Real is it has live action shows in it.

Last time I checked, Cartoon Network is supposed to have Cartoons and Cartoons only in it. Now they decide to make some crap named CN Real? They might as well call it Live-Action Network becasue in twenty years I can see Live-action shows taking over Cartoon Network.

If you agree with me and think that Cartoon Network has some shi77y shows on and you would like to re-watch the classics rather then get totured watching Adventure Time and Regular Show, click on the link above all the way at the top^.

And remember, you don't have to donate any money where it says donate you can just skip that and submit your signature.

It will ask you to put your First and Last Name, E-mail adress and Zip-Code. All of this stuff is required but you don't have to put a real Zip-Code for it to work.

So please sign the petition. You spent all that time reading this topic. It will only take a minute.

EDIT: Yes I know some of Cartoon Networks Classics come on Boomerang at Night time. Notice how I said "some". Also Re-Animated ruined CN as well. They obviously tried to copy Disney with that show.

  • hey I like Adventure Time. also guys, it isn't a 'fact' that all those 'golden age' cartoons are the best. they were the best in our minds, but trust me, try showing any of that to kids right now, it

  • I'm sorry but you don't seem to know what you are talking about. Fosters was good but doesn't stand up to the others. The only thing notable about Fosters was that it was easily the most creative cart

    In my opinion, the dark age ended somewhere around 2009. True, alot of the shows have just been average such as Adventure Time and Regular Show. However, I actually like some of the new shows such as

Well you have to admit that the quality of cartoons has been degrading slowly as time goes on. Sure, they will appeal to the kids of the generation they were designed for but you clearly see some degeneration with the cartoons.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=30Gb4iS9KNs

Here is Tom and Jerry, one of the greatest, if not, the greatest cartoon ever made. The first thing you will notice is the animation is superior to anything from today, the 00s and the 90s. Next is the plot of the episode is consistent while still remaining entertaining to adults and children alike.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=QjT25Iiyrr4

Now I present Courage the Cowardly Dog. It still has the same qualities as Tom and Jerry except for quality animation. Yeah its acceptable but not nearly as smooth as cartoons from the Tom and Jerry era.

Here is the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy along with Codename: Kids Next Door. This is one of those cross over episodes but most full ones have been removed or put in segments. As you can see, the animation is pretty bad, the plot makes no sense at all and doesn't even appear to try and make sense but is entertaining nonetheless. You can still get a few laughs out of it but don't expect anything more.

And here we have chowder. Poor animation, no real plot, and not entertaining at all mostly because it took every joke from every cartoon ever created. We've all seen it before, except little kids who haven't seen it, which is why they seem to find it entertaining.

Also the idea of children not liking the cartoons from previous generations is rather flawed, as multiple television networks have been showing Tom and Jerry reruns for a good 10 to 20 years now.

Exactly.

Chowder ripped off Spongebob in just about every way. That was such a stupid show.

You pick 4 random comedy shows and compared them but look what i can do

I will pick four aminated superhero shows

SuperFriends(1973):

Batman(1966 ):

Batman:the aminated series(1993):

Justice League(2001):

Batman Beyond(2000):

The last three and known as great shows that can be watched alll ages to in enjoy.Batman:the aminated series is known as one of greatest cartoons shows ever made.The first two are now dated and havn't aged well and can't be watched by all ages to enjoy.You can't compare 5 random comedy to prove point.You either get picked best of each or it's better of opinion.I love 90's aminated shows but there as been some in last 8 years that are great shows.

Ben 10 and Generator Rex are good cause it adds action. :P

The more time goes on the more I realize that this petition wont succeed. I mean just the other day i was watching tv with my little sister and as I was flipping through the channels I saw that my favorite episode of Johnny bravo was on boomerang(star trek episode) and I was dying for most of the episode while she didn't even chuckle(she was born 2001). But after that was done we started watching phineas and ferb and she was laughing a lot(I did too but that's not the point). The point I'm trying to make is that as CN loses one audience they will gain a new one. I know phineas and ferb isnt on CN but still. The shows they are putting out now seem like crap to most of us because they are different and don't have the same sense of comedy we grew up with. So the same could be said with kids today, the shows they have now are funny to them because it's the comedy they are growing up with and are used to so the "classics" seem boring to them since it's different. So let's say this petition got throug to CN and they started playing the shows from the "golden/silver" age they would probably lose the audience they have now(kids) and gain a new audience(teens/younger adults). And honestly how would that older audience even find out? I mean it's not like they would be watching CN to hear the news, so CN would just end up losing alot of viewers.

On another note, I think CN should bring back "special" days. Like we had cartoon Fridays and toonami, and something on Tuesdays and Thursdays after the other two fizzled out. Anyway I think that's what they should bring back since it gives kids something to look forward to.

Oh also, I think that if they did brin back toonami they could keep their younger audience and bring back alot of the teen/young adult viewers. I mean to this day I watch naruto shippuden online, I sometimes watch the dbz they play on nicktoons, and I've gone on YouTube looking up some of the show intros I used to watch. So if they brought thugs like naruto, dbz, one piece, zoids, yu yu hakisho, rurouni kenshin, basically all the anime back they would get so many viewers back.

Oh and one last thing I'm really tired right now haha so I know I rambled so if anything didn't make too much sense I'll be more then happy to clarify when I'm more awake. Anyway this is my two sense.

I have read your whole post which I usually don't do.

I would also have to agree with you in just about every way which I usually don't.

What I'm trying to say is that you are indeed right, there's not much I have left to say at this point, but I think PingasGuy (the due who created the petiton) wants Cartoon Cartoon Fridays to come back along with some Mordern Day Cartoons.

I mean if you look at the crap they put on during the morning and compare it to what was on about a decade ago, you'll see the difference. I mean sure all things get old but, you can't beat the classics :D .
