Slicer9875 27 Posted August 14, 2011 I need to choose between Acer Aspire TImeline X AS4830T-6642 and Sony Vaio VPCCA 25FX/B. Both computers have a usb 3.0, bluetooth, 4.0 GB memory, 640 GB harddrive, and an optical drive. The Vaio also has a backlit keyboard while the Acer can have an SSD Drive. The Acer costs about 750 and so does the Vaio. The Acer has a slightly longer batterly life by about 2 or 3 hours while the Vaio has really good streaming quality. I need to use this laptop in college. It's either the Acer from Amazon or the Vaio from Office Max. Which one would you recommend?
Rob 5,571 Posted August 14, 2011 I'd go with the Sony Vaio.
ssceles 134 Posted August 14, 2011 Can both play blu-ray dvds? That was the selling point for my newest laptop. I don't have any other way to play blu-ray disks and it was an excuse to get Advent Children Complete with its extra footage and all (*shakes fist at Squeenix* Really, blu-ray only edition?!). Ace326 79 Posted August 14, 2011 I have an Acer laptop and its better than most. It is better than Sony in my opinion.

Amon 4,279 Posted August 14, 2011 Vaio, I absolutely hate acers, I had one and I needed to buy another laptop in a year, just because of how outdated and unreliable they are.
VENROXAS 152 Posted August 15, 2011 I'd go with the sony probebly has a better graphics card and sony usualy has good products that last for a bit.
Godot 513 Posted August 15, 2011 I really don't recommend getting an Acer...I have one right now (my second one actually...first one died pretty quickly) and it's awful.

Slicer9875 27 Posted August 16, 2011 Thanks for the input, I've decided to go with the Sony b/c a few people have complained about Acers breaking down but no one seems to have any issues with Sony. It was helpful to know your opinions and experiences.
