My interpretation for novel is very loose, meaning it includes light novels and actual books. However, it does not include manga unless it's translated from the novel form.

 

Best books ever read: Mistborn, A Game of Thrones, Eragon,

Best Light Novels: Kaze No Stigma, Sword Art Online.

 

The list is kind of short but those are the books and novels I think are amazing. I have read plenty of good books but these are the ones I simply found to be the best. They had excellent plots, brilliant characters, and extremely good details. My favorite out of that list is definitely Game of Thrones but these works are superb and the authors demonstrate a huge imagination. They're unique in a sense, the general idea isn't new but then again, it's hard to find anything truly original but the way it's presented is totally unique keeping you interested the whole way. Eragon isn't as good as the others but it is on a comparable level. The setting is easy to imagine and it never gets old.

I have read a bit of both. I almost forgot about Chrome Shelled Regios though. It was pretty good. The last time I attempted to read the Wheel of Time, I ended up becoming bored out of my mind but that was 5 years ago. I have read Trudy Caravan works, i wanted to read that particular book but it's not available at my library.

The Twilight Saga, Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, and the Hunger Games. I loved Breaking Dawn so much I finished it in one day! 8D (And it's, like, 600 pages )

I finished Dance of Dragons in one day, 959 pages. It was very shocking and I have to wait for the next novel b/c my favorite character in the book has an uncertain fate due to a Caesar like situation.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of my personal favorites, especially if you like Greek Mythology. Or, if you don't know anything about Greek mythology, it does a pretty decent job of teaching it too.

 

I also liked the Hunger Games Trilogy (though the ending was not what I was hoping for), it has some good action/violence and suspense. Gregor the Overlander is pretty good too (by the same author).

 

Harry Potter is one of my favorites too. Loved the characters.

 

Umm, that's all I can think of. I have read plenty of books, and I have a lot of favorites, but the above are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head this late at night.

for me it's the His Dark Materials series (idgaf if I'm Catholic), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, the Haruhi Suzumiya series (better than the anime, imo), the Harry Potter series, the Vampire Chronicles series, The Book Thief, It's Kind of a Funny Story, A Study in Scarlett, Brave Story, Howl's Moving Castle, This Lullaby, and Blood Brothers.
