Who do you think will win the mark of mastery?

Posted

Who do you think will win(or become masters)? Honestly, I think they both will. But when I read the translation of the trailer... or rather this part:

Yen Sid: "From this point onward, Sora and Riku will go and take the Mark of Mastery exam."

Sora, surprised: "Even without taking it, no one can beat me!"

Riku, facing downward: "Having walked the path of darkness, I wonder if it’d really be right for me to wield the Keyblade. You’d have to make sure.

First I was like, whoa Sora, getting a little arrogant there. And like a wise man once said: "Arrogance will get you killed!"

So yeah, how many times did we see the prideful ones fall? Example: um...let me see...RIKU??!?!? Plus, what Riku says too kinda gets to me. He's really taking being wielder of a keyblade seriously. Now I'm starting to think that maybe, MAYBE! Riku will become a master BEFORE Sora. That, or he actually isn't worthy of being a KeyBearer.

So yeah, what do you guys and gals think of it?

Hmmm not sure about that but it would leave some self doubt and possibly leave riku open to be the one take out xehanort

Ture. Xehanort is Riku's battle but no I'm sorry Sora would creak under the stress.~Nayn

It seems to fit that Riku would be the one to earn the mark, and that Sora would not, but learn from it to save worlds without it.

i think that both of them will have to o through some challenge that will prove their strength, which in the end will make both of them masters

I disagree .. adding more keyblade wielders builds more backstory on the keyblade itself. Why it exists, what is required to obtain it and what does it take to truly master it. kingdom hearts is spread throughout a huge number of worlds, creating numerous sagas to a series calls for ideas. Adding more story to the keyblade will bring up more questions, making it a more engaging story in my opinion.

tutti frutti. I have to agree with you there Anime, it doesn't really feel right to be left in the dark about parts of a storyline. From CoM to KH2, I wanted to learn more about Roxas since the only thing that we learned about him in KH2 was that he was an Org. member and Sora's Nobody. Though when KHDays rolled around we got more answers pertaining to who Roxas was.

Though as to who will pass the test, it's hard for me to say. I more so have that feeling that Yen Sid will have more meaning to the test than just returning from the Dream World. Similar to how a person may assign a task to 2 people, but how those two people handle the task will determine whether or not they completed the task. To me how both Sora and Riku handle being in the Dream World, on top of returning, may lead to them becoming a Keyblade Master.
