I wasn't really sure where to stick this, but I suppose this section is most fitting.

Looking at the latest Kingdom Hearts DDD trailer, and the fact that Apprentice Xehanorts past will be shown at some point in DDD I've been wondering, are Dream Drop Distance and Birth By Sleep Volume 2 one game, and not separate like alot of us thought?

 

We still haven't had a official announcement of BbSv2 yet, and that teaser was shown in BbS:FM in January, one would have thought it might have at least been mentioned at TGS this year, but nothing.

 

There's things supporting them being one title and being separate games, but one that really really sticks out to me is DDD having the volume of a main title, as said by Nomura. When you look at how much ground was covered in Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 you have to wonder, would it all be able to fit into this one game?

 

Anyway I made this thread purely because I wanted to hear everyone elses thoughts. What do you guys think?

Nope. I doubt Dream Drop Distance could contain that much.

Hmmmm, the title DDD really matches with the Master Shounin Shiken that takes place in the Realm of Dream. But since that exam won't be the whole game, if they go out that realm, maybe "dream" won't fit anymore for a title....... hmmmmmm, thinkable.

i dont think that DDD would contain that much, but at the same time they have delayed enough for KH3 and since it was mentioned that DDD would be the prequal to the "final battle", it seems that them being the same game could be more realistic than first thought.

I think DDD and bbsv2 are to different games. DDD is for 3ds and bbsv2 will be for the psp vita at a guess

Well I sure hope they are. Because if BBSV2 is a game it'll probably be on the Vita and I won't be able to get it and will have to put up with everyone talking about a KH game I don't have http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-cry.png just like with BBS

I was recently thinking the same thing, cuz I think some of the stuff shown in the BBS secret ending might be in 3D. I hope it's not tho.

No they are not the same game. Dream Drop Distance will be a 3DS title prepareing Sora, Riku, and Kairi for whatever role they will play in KH3. I believe that it will encompass saving at least one if not all of the BBS characters.

BBSv2 will be a PSP/Vita title that prepares the Aqua, Terra, and Ventus for THEIR role in KH3. It will more than likely include whichever character is saved during Dream Drop Distance saving the other 2. (Most likely Ventus, since the game involves a story based around sleep) Also I am guessing it will also encompass the the return of Vanitas.
