I need a job. I need to get more dough and I guess what I want to know is this: how old do you have to be, in order to start work? I want to start paying for my own phone bill and stuff like that. I just need a part time job, and I need to know what age you can start working at.

depend where u live if u live in the USA i think the age is 16 all depend on where u live

The age in the US is officially 16. In some states it's 14 or 15. Granted companies are not fond of hiring at that age due to the fact that it's a liability.

In the country I live in think you can start working at the age of 12. Not quite sure though, might be that or 13. But as the rest said, it depends on where you live.

It depends on where you live and what type of job it is...I think. The earliest I've heard of where I am is 14 for a bagboy at a grocery store, but sometimes I hear 15/16. I started myself at 14 though, but it was for my own family's daycare business. :U

I started at 12 as a papergirl and did that for four years until I could get another job. Downside to that, at least for the paper I worked for, is that you can't take any days off -.-

That's cool, means I can start working in a year or two :)

I think some places hire people who are 14, but the official thing only starts with 16, I believe.

In Victoria, Australia it's 14 years and nine months. In other states though you can get a job at a younger age.
