In my Psychology class, we recently talked about intelligence. I learned that there are many factors in a person being intelligent that I would have never considered. So, being a KH dork, I want to apply this to Sora xD How smart Sora is has always been a topic for fans, so I want to use the theories of intelligence against what we know about him.

I'm using Sternberg's Triarchic Theory of Intelligence. I put X in traits I believe Sora has shown in the game. The ? marks are for ones I'm not sure about or haven't been shown in the game (Like Sora studying xD). I want to hear if you know what ? marks should be, or if you think I should change one of the traits. So here's what I came up with:

Practical Problem-Solving Ability

X Reasons logically and well

? Identifies connections among ideas

__Sees all aspects of a problem

X Keeps an open mind and responds thoughtfully to others' ideas

? Sizes up situations well

X Gets to the heart of problems

X Interprets information accurately

X Makes good decisions

__Goes to original sources for basic information

__Poses problems in an optimal way

? Is a good source of ideas

__Perceives implied assumptions and conclusions

X Deals with problems resourcefully

6 / 13

Verbal Ability

X Speaks clearly and articulately and is verbally fluent

X Converses well

__Is knowledgeable about a particular area of subject matter

? Studies hard

? Reads widely with high comprehension

? Writes without difficulty

? Sets aside time for reading

? Displays good vocabulary

2 / 8

Social Competence

X Accepts others for what they are

? Admits mistakes

X Displays interest in the world at large

__Is on time for appointments

X Has social conscience

__Thinks before speaking and doing

X Makes fair judgments

__Assesses well the relevance of information to a problem at hand

X Is sensitive to other people's needs and desires

X Displays interest in the immediate environment

What do you guys think?

Sounds like a pretty good evaluation to me. wish I could help on the ? but dont know what really to tell you.

Then I'd say avarge.

I am going to give what I think should be changed by putting them in these [ ] brackets and my personal comments in these ( ) brackets. The minus sign '-' stands for a little bit of both, the 'X' (for me anyway) stands for no and a plus '+' stands for yes.

Otherwise, I agreed with everything.

id say soras a bit like myself when it comes to his intelligence he can be dumb at times but when he needs to be smart he can be

In my opinion he's dumb unlike Ted Kord

Good point, although there was that time in KHII when Mickey told him to go find Riku and Kairi. But Sora decided Leon and the others needed him now so he stayed.

X Makes good decisions [-] (Goes back to KHII when Saïx purposely confuses Sora by goading him about Riku just so he can channel his frustration into defeating more Heartless for the Organization.)

He didn't stay confused for long. Right after, he decided he couldn't stop destroying the heartless. They were dangerous to the worlds. He resolved to stop the Organization at its root, which ended up solving the problem (for now anyways). But there aren't many examples of him making his own decisions because he usually is just going after the bad guys. The only other decision is his stabbing himself with the keyblade, which had both good and bed results.

I don't know if that's relevant. If Destiny Island doesn't have that technology, who would never have been to learn to use one.

? Displays good vocabulary [-] (His vocabulary is alright.)

Yeah, it's not bad but it's not fantastic either. I'm sure if he ever met Sho Minaminmoto, who wouldn't understand him at all xD

? Admits mistakes [X] (Ahem. *COUGHEvenwithouttakingitnoonecanbeatme!COUGH*)

I think that just shows that he hasn't really made any major mistakes. Until he does, we can't really draw a conclusion for this one.

__Thinks before speaking and doing [-] (Tends to be informal towards royalty and individuals with titles such as Master Yen Sid and Queen Minnie. But at times, he can show respect and formality such as when he bowed to Simba or to Princess Jasmine.)

True, I didn't think of that. My mind jumped to him in Land of Dragons getting into a fight xD But overall, I think he has a god sense of how to act towards others.

I've got two things to add.

It's safe to assume Sora sets time aside for reading, because canonically, he filled Jiminy's Journal three times.

And apparently one of the Ultimania's have notes written by 'Sora' I've never had the chance to actually confirm this, but I've heard it said multiple times.

That's true. I forgot about his journals. Thanks.

And now I'll have to read the Ultimania to see if that's true xD
