Nintendo has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the fastest-selling Zelda game of all time. Since launch, 535,000 copies of the game have been sold in the United States alone.

 

The numbers were boosted by strong sales over the holiday weekend, with 500,000 Wii systems sold on Black Friday. Sales of 3DS were also strong, up 325% since the first week of November. This is largely thanks to sales of Super Mario 3D Land, which has sold 500,000 copies since launch, becoming the fastest-selling portable Mario title ever.

 

"What this has been able to do is drive our Nintendo 3DS business in only eight months to surpass the full first year volume of the original DS and we still have the bulk of the holiday to go," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told USA Today.

 

The 3DS has sold 1.65 million units in the United States thus far. Fils-Aime added that Mario Kart 7, which releases on December 4th, is also expected to "continue driving our full-year sales" of the system.

And before if you asked someone about Wii they would answer "WHAT IS A WII??" or "WII IS FOR LITTLE GIRLS!". I'm seriously getting that game for Christmas.

Super Mario 3D land has been fun, but Mario Kart 7 will be a blast to play! I can't wait much longer, I must have it. ^o^

The numbers are really encouraging. The sales grew A LOT and I believe Mario Kart 7 will help selling 3DS even more. But I also believe that PS Vita hill help with the reduction of 3DS sales... Well, both are great portable consoles http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

it's funny there it is big nintento! then 3 month's later everybody forget's about it and goes back to ps3 and xbox XDDD

I dont think Skyward Sword is as good as ocarina. It has alot of gameplay, but the game just doesnt have the feel of Ocarina. One thing that I felt promoted the game was the fact that the Wii remote included with the game was $30 dollars less. Also all the hype on the game (saying its the biggest, alot of promotion, etc.)

The Nintendo 3DS gained popularity thanks to Super Mario 3D land,with all the others great titles that coming for the 3DS I'm sure it will keep up with Sony's PSvita,I was afraid that Nintendo would become the ''Next Sega'' and making games for...SONY and MICROSOFT,that would be horrible,but I dont think it will happen soon.But for the Wii...well Skyward Sword and Kirby Returns to Dreamland are the only great titles we have this year,I hope we get something before the Wii U's release.
