1. K-pop (Korean: 가요, Gayo) (an abbreviation of Korean pop or Korean popular music) is a musical genre consisting of Pop, dance, electropop, hip hop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers.

2. The Korean Wave, also known as the Hallyu (Hangul: 한류; Hanja: 韓流; RR: Hallyu), refers to spread of South Korean culture around the world.

I know most of the members on this site have no idea what K-Pop or the Hallyu Wave is so I have decided to post this video to introduce you more to Korean Pop and the Korean Wave. In this video, idols from S.M. Entertainment (the top entertainment industry in South Korea and successful entertainment industry in Asia) perform to their utmost, playing instruments, showcasing acrobatic dance skills and showing off powerful vocals. Please enjoy this video and I hope it gives you a good first impression of K-Pop and opens a door to entirely new and special culture.

I kinda like K-pop. :) I've been thinking about getting this song with my iTunes gift card. x3 I don't know the meaning really, I just hope it's not super inappropriate. xD

BoA has more inappropriate songs to be honest. And they are in English. >.> But I love Hurricane Venus. Freaking awesome song. You should buy it.

Okay, so I checked the lyrics and they're not inappropriate. It's definitely a mature song but not an overly sexual one.

I don't really listen to k-pop, but I listened to this song and fell in love with it.

Yeah, I had her whole English album once, and there were a lot of...kind of bad ones. xP I just have three from her English one now, I just had to keep "Eat You Up." xD The other two are Energetic and Obsessed, which are okay I think.

I tried using Google Translate to get like super rough translations of a few songs I liked on her most recent Korean album (pretty much half of the words wouldn't translate, I guess 'cause there's no direct translation?). Hurricane Venus (which is...like you said, on the edge, but not overly so), Copy and Paste (didn't sense anything too bad there), and Dangerous (which...I wasn't sure about xD). I liked the sound of Adrenaline, but the rough translation got the idea across that it was kind of over inappropriate. xP So I skipped that.

But the redhead guy was the one I hated most...

D: Too bad. But he's sexy in Trouble Maker. >.> For once.
