Okay. All Americans on this site should hear this.
History has taught us many things. Unfortunately for America, while we have some of the best deeds, we have some of the worst too. Bright light casts dark shadows, or whatever the hell it is.
One of America's worst, most horrible mistakes, if not THE worst mistake, was slavery. Then it was racial segregation. The idea of treating other people that way just because of the color of their skin was utter and complete stupidity.
America's motto is the land of the free and the home of the brave. When America started, people from all over came to enjoy that freedom.
Today, America has its first black president.
We should all be proud at how far our country has come, proud that once again we haveproven our freedom.
I am disgusted.
So many people hate Obama, for old prejudices. I hate that.
For example, when Obama gave that speech to kids about the importance of stayng in school, there was so much controversy about brainwashing.
In the words of my (sometimes) wise father- "My kids are smart enough to listen to someone and decide for themselves whether it makes sense or not. Maybe if I had stupid kids I would worry about brainwashing."
Honestly, if George Bush had given that speech, would so many people have objected?
No.
I am so tired of everyone hating Obama- for no valid reason. Once he's had his say, once he does something, once he's completed his term.. then you can complain. But don't hate him before he has a chance at anything.
How would you like it if you had to lead a country, and at the same time try to fix economic problems all over? Let alone if half the world doesn't like you? We all have a responsibility to be loyal to our leaders. Now theres two sides.
Whatever happened to "United we stand"?
I know no one can acheve universal popularity. But if you dislike Obama, ask yourself for a good reason why you hate him.

Give him a chance.
