January 18, 201213 yr Yes. Oh yes. I cheered when I saw that. And wikipedia, where everyone gets the best information from, has blacked out too. Right there is most likely the main thing that could help us. But with so many people and major sites against this, I don't see how they'll be able to pass it. its because the major companies in the movie and music industry lines the pockets of people in congress in so called "donations to the government" so that they can get what every they want. The food industry does this. This truly shows how corrupt our government is and how much we really can trust it. we are number one to them until the next "donation" comes
January 18, 201213 yr Honestly I don't see why it matters if people black out their sites or not. It's not going to change any politician's mind. They generally don't care about what we say, anyway, so why should we bother shutting down our computers for a day needlessly? Blacking out a few websites for a few hours won't stop it. ohjeezlogicguyswutisit.
January 18, 201213 yr The politics are gonna have another thing coming if they censor the internet of the American's because where not gonna let it stand. My school is going to protest on this because some of the things we use would be blocked by this law. There gonna pay for this so badly it's not funny.
January 18, 201213 yr Canada and America are definitely very co-dependent on each other in varying degrees, and I agree with you when you say that they're one of the strongest alliances out there. However, you also pretty much just called Canada another state for America, and the only reason we don't get attacked by other countries is because America is there to hold our hands. Whether you intended it or not, that can (and in Cellar's case, has) come off as extremely insulting to Canadians. Canada is a country on Earth, but has a population around the same as California. You don't need to graduate from West Point to figure out that it would be a pain in the ass to defend. Without American forces, the Canadians would be spread far too thin. If a nation that could actually get a military to Canada (say China or Russia) showed up it would not be pretty. I apologize for the fact I called Canada a "Protectorate" but I'm not apologizing for analyzing statistics. Oh and for those who say that Canada sucks- They are, in my opinion, one of the greatest countries in the world. and guess what? they actually prove that a nationwide health care system can work! Which explains why rich Canadians come to America for health care http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Yeah they're doing it to tell the politicians they disagree with it, but it's also to bring awareness to those that aren't aware with what's going on. There are plenty of people I've come across today that did not know about it until the "blackout." Now instead of hiding in the dark, it's getting more and more attention. The logic is that the more people you get against it, voicing their opinion, and speaking out about and possibly contacting their politicians personally the more likely they might be swayed in the other direction if there is a large enough movement against the bill. If more and more attention grows and the country, heck, even the world pressures the US government the more likely they are to stand off about the bills in question. But all in all it's to spread awareness to everyone ESPECIALLY the people that are voting these politicians into office. It does more than you think it's doing. =\
January 18, 201213 yr This is good thing letting people know who had no idea about this law, and what it can do and how it can stopped. But it's kind of sad I mean damn people. I mean don't you pay attention this stuff it's your freedom and everything you use on a daily basic on the Internet that could be in jeopardy. I find this a sad like big movie industries are trying something this low because not enough people wanting to pay what like 10 dollars or more on some mediocre film. Where on the Internet people can get just as, or even better form of entrainment. And trying to push congress on making this law and helps them stay in their position of power. But what I have read doesn't seem like the law will be passed this year but this is to make sure this law never comes to light.
January 19, 201213 yr Care to explain what was so uneducated and ignorant? Ever since Canada became free of British control they have been Buddy-Buddy with the United States in every way, shape and form. I don't think I said anything wrong. Lol, in what way? If being friendly with your next door neighbour because it's a smart thing to do is your only reason, well. That's sad.As for being a 'protectorate' of the US, of course the US would jump in if Canada was attacked. Not neccessarily because we would turn to you, but because we are literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR and helping push out hostile enemy troops is just a smart thing to do. If you actually take the time to look at the United States and Canada and compare/contrast them, it would be silly to assume one relies on or controls the other in any way seeing as how they are so vastly different.

January 19, 201213 yr Because I don't want to put up with this every day if PIPA or SOPA gets passed. I applaud Google and Wikipedia for awaring more people of this bill.
January 20, 201213 yr Comment removed by US governmet You stole that from a youtube video. And if this bill does pass, I'm watching a ton of Let's Plays just in case.
