Damion Strife 130 Posted February 8, 2012 The knight then took a knee on the ground and reverted back to Brutus who was standing there with a big goofy smile. "The award for most BAMF performance goes to Brutus the knew Green Knight! Thank you, thank you," Brutus said bowing. Beatrice then got up and hobbled over to Brutus. He then smacked him on the head and said, "Oi! You didn't do noffin! You jus turned inta that there knight and boom! It was over....meanwhile your friends were working their ashes off tryin ta kill dat ting while u wuz on da ground! Ya idjit!" Brutus then looked at his friends sadly and said," I am so sorry...I took too long in there...I promise...you'll never have to have it that hard again." Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 8, 2012 "Well, I guess you kind of made up for it at the end there," replied Joseph. "What happened, exactly?" Joseph had heard all about the Knights of old, how there were supposed to be five of them, each corresponding to a different chess piece. The king, queen, knight, bishop, and castle. From what he'd just seen, Joseph figured that Brutus's new knight was the castle. Several other questions came to mind, and before he could stop himself to let Brutus answer the first question he blurted them all out. "Why did your family have that? What was the Knights name again? Where did it come from? Was it you fighting in the knight or the knight fighting for you? ..." The questions kept coming. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 8, 2012 "Was that really a Knight?" Gen hurried to where Brutus and Joseph were... well, where Joseph was assaulting Brutus with questions. She had heard stories about the Knights, but that's all they were. Stories... right? She still ached from their skirmish with the Gigas, but it was nothing serious. Gen ensured that her knives were back in their proper places, feeling down her leg to check the dagger. A place for everything and everything in its place. And yet, everything felt out of place. This otherwordly power that Brutus wielded left an almost suffocating feeling in the air. What exactly was that thing?! "Are you alright, Brutus? How do you feel?" Damion Strife 130 Posted February 9, 2012 Brutus's eyes got big....so many..questions. "Well...the knight's name is Tyranous, it was kinda like...idk....sort of an out of body experiance...I saw the fight, thought what I wanted to happen, but I didn't feel it. My family has had this helmet for generations, but nobody ever knew what it was for. That was definatly a knight, and well as for me my body pretty much hurts from being kicked around by that Gigas. Plus I'm starving," Brutus said. He ran his hand on his back and felt something wet, and then realized it was blood...his blood. He almost forgot how badly that Gigas beat him up... AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 9, 2012 "We had better get ourselves fixed up." Gen checked Brutus' wound. It may look like abloody mess, but he would be fine. "We should stay in Parma for another day before moving on." And now that she thought about it, where would they go? Back to Balandor? Surely the king would want to know of this development... But Balandor was a pretty heavily populated area. One of the first places they would be looking for her...
Damion Strife 130 Posted February 10, 2012 "So...back to Balandor? We could report this to the king if that's cool..." Brutus said,"Hey...you look like something is bothering you..." He looked at Gen and added," Is it personal or do you wanna talk about it?" He put his axe on the strap on his back and waited for a response, but his dad hit him again and said," You dummy! A gentle mun don' ask about a lady's pursonal life!" Then Beatrice shook his head and stumbled off thinking,'Where did I go wrong raising that boy?'
Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 11, 2012 "Brutus, she'll tell us if and when she wants, but for now, I could really use that rest," responded Joseph. He then headed for the house once again to rest, exhausted both from the fight and from the shock at the current events. He knew he needed to ponder the events that had occurred recently. What was the old prophesy again? Something about a split between the three and two? And what was it again with the Gigas? He left the more everyday decisions up to the other two. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 11, 2012 "It's... nothing." She flat-out lied. "I am still just a little shaken up from the fight, that's all." Gen flashed a smile to Brutus. "I just need to rest for a little bit, then we can return to Balandor, if that is alright." She began walking back to the house, the events of the past few days tumbling around in her head. What was she so worried about? This country was enormous. The odds of her running into anyone here weren't even worth considering. Gen ofund her way back to the house, retiring to one of the guest rooms. It had been a long day, and it would only get longer...
Damion Strife 130 Posted February 14, 2012 Brutus sighed and headed home. He silently shut his door and grabbed a new shirt. He slid it on, and plopped down on his warm bed thinking about what he did today...he was a knight. He took the helmet off his head and wrapped it up in a blanket beside him, he curled his body around it, and slowly drifted off to sleep. (This is a dream..) 'Bonjour monsieur bienvenu au Paris!' 'Remerciements Mademoiselle.' 'Vous parle Francais?! I didn't know!' 'Not all travelers are incompetant linguists mademoiselle. But, I digress, and where may I ask is the nearest bar? I'm supposed to meet a friend there.' 'Its...(Fade out...)
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 15, 2012 "Maintenant voyons ce que vous ressemblez à de dessous cette chose, vous bâtard…" The guard reached down, pulling the mask off of his face. The sky overhead rumbled, rain falling from the darkness. He could feel the drops splash on his face, washing the viscous blood from his temple. The guard sheathed his dagger, looking down with a wide, dark grin. "Lucky for you, the captain wants you alive." He let out a low chuckle before bringing his fist down on the man. Gen's eyes shot open as she struggled for breath. She sat up, looking out the window. It was dark outside. Gen stood from the edge of the bed, her head spinning slightly as she made her way to the window. It was so quiet here. She enjoyed the silence, but at the same time it drove her crazy. It saddened Gen that she couldn't be completely honest with Joseph and Brutus, but the less they knew, the better. The dreams just kept coming. She wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. "I wish I could just end all of it..." She muttered to herself, hugging one of the pillows closer to her chest.
Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 15, 2012 Joseph tossed and turned fitfully, his discomfort overcoming his need to sleep. The wounds were healing fine, but Joseph still didn't feel well. If you add to that his troubled mind, you get a picture of how futile sleep seemed. One thing was for sure, the three of them needed to head back to Balandor as soon as possible. There had been too many unusual things happen in a short period of time for it to all be coincidence. Joseph got up and began to walk the halls, heading to the kitchen to hopefully find milk to drink to hopefully make him sleepy enough to get some rest. If not then he could always drink a lot and pass out. That seemed to be the preferred method in this town anyway. Along his walk Joseph heard some muttered words coming from Gen's room with the slightly cracked door. Peering through out of curiosity, Joseph opened the door a little more. The slight movement made the door creak, so he knew that he'd drawn too much attention to himself to walk away now. He cautiously stepped through and sat on the edge of her bed as she stood at the window holding a pillow. "Couldn't sleep either?" he asked. "Yeah, this whole 'Brutus getting a Knight' thing is really doing a number on me too. I mean, why not you or me, right?" Joseph knew that the "Knight" thing wasn't what was bothering Gen, but he also knew not to pry. He wished that he could help her with whatever she was going through. At first he tried to pretend that he was just wanting to keep her from being distracted or tired in battle, therefore potentially being hazardous, but honestly Joseph was starting to care about her. Nothing much, mind you, but a faint glimmer of emotion none the less. (Note: I'd like to know how long you guys want this story to be, that way I can shape the rest of it accordingly. Also, I'm thinking about having Joseph become romantically interested in Gen, but it can simply be a concerned friendship instead. Let me know what you guys think!) AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 16, 2012 OOC: A relationship would be interesting, but she won't really become "open" until she gets her Knight. As for the length... I don't know. As long as it takes. "We should count ourselves fortunate to have a Knight at all. They are things of legend, are they not?" Her voice was rather flat, as if her mind was elsewhere. Gen never took her eyes from the darkness in the distance. Joseph's presence was comforting, but she just couldn't bring herself to look at him. She didn't want him to see her shame. "So... what do you think will happen when we return to Balandor?" It was a simple question, although Gen tried to keep her thoughts out of her words. I don't want to be alone again. Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 17, 2012 "You're right, of course. I severely doubt that we would've lasted much longer without the Knight," he said in response, though he felt as if Gen just wasn't in it. "When we get to Balandor I'm going to ask the king everything I can about Knights and this new Magi threat. It'd be nice to get some cash from this whole endeavor, but only enough to get this whole "adventuring thing" off the ground."
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 18, 2012 "Adventuring..." She thought about the word, still looking out the window. Maybe that's just what she needed. Not only would it keep her constantly moving around, but hopefully it could also keep her mind off of her torments. But unfortuantely, it seemed the two were intricately intertwined. "Do you think... you would mind if I went with you? After Balandor, I mean." She added quickly, turning to look at Joseph. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching her. It was kind of weird, but a tthe same time... not? "There is something happening with these Magi, and I fear it may be something that I am-" obligated to stop. "unable to... let continue." She finished, uncertain of the words to choose. This language could be confusing sometimes.

Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 18, 2012 "Would I mind?" Joseph asked, somehow finding the question a bit ridiculous. How many times had she saved his but already? They had just met, for goodness sakes, but he knew that he couldn't think of anyone he'd trust more to watch his back. Thinking about that, Joseph realized that the fact was kind of a pathetic one, but a fact none the less. "As long as you can hang with my attitude and Brutus's loud voice I'm sure we'd more than like you to come along. We'll just have to deal with your obsessive introversion. See? One big happy family of misfits. Welcome to the club," he ended dryly.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 19, 2012 Joseph's reply wasn't exactly enlightening, but... somehow it helped. "Thank you." Was all Gen said as she sat next to him on the bed. She kept her eyes on the floor, the pillow tight in her arms. It felt nice, being here with someone else, even if the feeling would be fleeting. In time, they would have to go their seperate ways and she would be alone again. That's how it always worked. But for now she had... friends? Could she really have friends when the face she showed them was not her own? "I'm sorry. I guess I am just tired." She glanced over toward Joseph quickly before turning back to the floor. Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 20, 2012 "I can understand that. I'll get out of your hair and go see if I can't find something in the kitchen to help me get to sleep. Night," he finished as he drug himself off of her bed. As he began walking down the hall he wondered back to the mysterious girl and her issues. What was Gen's secret, really, and could it be that bad against all of the stuff she already knew about the two of them? Finding milk in the ice box he grabbed it and chugged some back before crashing on the couch in the living room. He guessed he'd see what tomorrow had for him when it got there. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 20, 2012 After Joseph closed the door, Gen fell backward onto the mattress. Why was life so hard? She could hear bugs chirping outside as she stared at the ceiling. Maybe it was time to open up... even just a little. Naturally, she couldn't say everything. Not to mention the fact that she kind of didn't want to. It's all part of leaving your past behind you, right? Gen sighed, turning to bury her head in the pillows. Hopefully, morning would come soon.
Damion Strife 130 Posted February 21, 2012 Brutus stared at the ceiling until he could see the faint outline of the sun. "Time to get moving I guess..." he thought. He exited his room with all of his needed gear, some food, and a couple bottles of ale. It was a horrible habit his father had passed down onto him, but he had it none the less. He decided to wait outside for the others and pop the cork on one of the bottles.
Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 22, 2012 Grumbling as the rising sun struck his eye lids, Joseph headed out of the living room, got changed and ready in the restroom, and headed out the door to meet a lightly drinking Brutus outside. Joseph was surprised that he didn't see Gen out there already. It wasn't that she seemed like a morning person, it was just that she seemed as though she was always wanting to leave where ever she was to go somewhere else. He guessed that a hard day yesterday, coupled with a night of fitful sleep, if any, was responsible for her comparatively late morning. The enchanted Ark helmet looked right at home on Brutus's head, and Joseph was surprised to note that he was having a hard time picturing him without it. Once again, thoughts of the Knights sprung to his head, but he pushed them aside for now, knowing that it was useless until he gathered more information. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 22, 2012 With a heavy sigh, Gen brushed the hair out of her face as she leaned in front of the mirror. Today was a new day, and the start of a new life. The past meant nothing to her anymore. Everyone she knew was dead to her. There was nothing wrong with anything anymore. And yet... It just felt like denial. Like she was runing form her problems. But then again, maybe she was. Running like a child, afraid to turn around and see if anyone was really chasing her. Could it all really be in her head? She sighed again, readjusting her shirt before leaving the guest room. It was so kind of Brutus' father to let them stay here, although waking the sleeping (and most likely drunken) giant to thank him seemed rude. Gen carefully opened the door, closing it quietly behind her. Joseph and Brutus were already outside, standing a few feet from the house. How long had they been waiting here? Now she felt worse. "Good morning." Her voice was filled with attempted enthusiasm. "So, Balandor today, correct? Let's get going."
Damion Strife 130 Posted February 23, 2012 "Awright! I like your style, let's get a move on!" Brutus said. He threw the bottle into the windmill, and started marching triumphantly towards the Balandor Plains. He was filled with great excitment, joy, and most of all....a woozy stomach. He didn't know how long it was going to take but he felt as though he drank a bit too much...perhaps a whole thing of ale for breakfast was a bad idea. Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted February 23, 2012 Joseph looked at the wobbly Brutus and wondered how much help he'd be in a fight in that state. Ah, well. With all of the magic he had been using lately, and the close combat he'd found himself in, Joseph felt rather confident, glad that his skills were returning to him. Sure, it'd only been a few months he'd gone without them, but when it comes to magic and the like, one always needs to stay in top form. Joseph followed after him, quickly dispatching the small enemies that dared come his way. Balandor would be... eventful. Joseph was definitely looking forward to it. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 24, 2012 What awaited them in Balandor? True, the city wasn't that far away, and yet Gen couldn't help but wonder. What did the others think would happen? Something about Brutus' stagger implied it may involve more to drink, but she wasn't too sure about Joseph. He seemed to be all over the place, while she felt as if she was barely moving in this world. Maybe that's why she found him interesting. After all, they say that opposites attract... Well, they would see the King, at least that was established. But then what? Would he have something else for them to do? Would he just tell them to go away? Now that she thought about it, would they even make it through the front door? Why was she worrying? They had already been inside. They were expected! Gen blinked hard, trying to get her mind straightened out. Too much was going on at once, at least on a mental scale. She glanced around at the open plains, watching out for anything suspicious. 1 Not-with-a-whimper reacted to this
