After the overwhelming popularity of the idea, I'm starting this rp. Remember, this takes place in the modern time. So people won't be very happy if you draw your weapon in public. Be careful. Also, this was an important question, and I'll answer. You can talk to your Inhabiter whenever you want. And I have to have Sephiroth as my enemy. Sorry, Azure Flame xD

Joy sat in the cafe, drinking his coffee slowly. He couldn't believe all of it was real. Final Fantasy, everything. And why Cloud chose him was boyone his understanding. After all, in the games, he was the cool dude. Still, having the Buster Sword was pretty cool. He finished his coffee and walked out slowly. He put his hands in his pockets and tried to imitate Cloud's expression, but he burst out laughing, causing to people around him to look at him. Oh, if only they knew.

Joy nodded. "I'm going to have to find the Buster Sword alone. I have a feeling I'm going to be met with heavy resistance, and I don't want you there when it happens. I'll just take a train, or something. But I really need to get going." Without wating for a response, he quickly walked away. Before turning the corner, he turned around, and looked at Mariah's eyes. She had the most beautiful eyes. His cheeks had a red tint to them. "Good luck, Mariah, and I love you." He knew they just met, but he knew this might be the last time they saw each other for a while, if never again.

(@Azure Flame: I'm making a couple of game references, one of which would sort of involve James since it's a Sephiroth reference. If you don't like it, I can edit my post.)

Joy's words made Mariah's heart leap. By the time she was able to react, he was gone. She knew she had to focus—they were on the clock, and she had to get to James and negotiate with him before their time was up. But how she wished she could have said the same thing to Joy! “I love you, too,” she whispered.

Though she had been fully aware that going to James might get her killed, that he may not be willing to talk and just take her down instead, she was now determined to stay alive. She had to tell Joy in person, and she refused to die before she saw him again. And she knew how strong he was—there was no doubt that whatever resistance he faced, he would win.

Mariah looked up the location of the network building where James had broadcasted from, and found that it was surprisingly close to the hospital. She decided going there on foot would be quicker than going in a taxi and trying to navigate through traffic at this hour. She quickly exited the hospital and started running. She didn't know how much time was left, how much time she had to persuade James to wait longer—she had to be fast. Each time she reached a busy intersection, she expertly dodged and jumped over and even on top of cars. She got to the building in about ten minutes and saw that there were police cars and onlookers surrounding the place. She shoved past them, jumping over yellow tape and ignoring protesting officers, and kicked through the glass doors.

She didn't even try the elevator, guessing that James may have disabled it to keep his hostage news crew from escaping. She soon found the stairwell and looked up. There must've been several dozen flights. This didn't intimidate her though, as she felt like her blood was now pure adrenaline. She began to ascend as fast as she could towards the top floor where the program was broadcasted from.

When she was about three quarters of the way up, she came across something that made her stop in her tracks. A large trail of blood. It had started from outside the door of the stairwell, but she didn't have time to investigate its exact origin. It seemed to lead up to where she was going. She started running again. The further up she got, the more fresh the blood looked, and the more afraid she became. If I don't do this, everyone will die, not just this unfortunate person, she thought. I can't back out. She finally reached the top and burst through the stairwell door that opened up to the rest of the floor. She found herself at the end of a long hallway. The trail of blood led to the room at the opposite end, where the unlit “On Air” sign was placed above the door. The door was closed, adding to Mariah's anxiety. She walked up to it slowly and stopped right in front of it, working to hide any traces of fear from her face, though fear was the primary reason her heart was still pounding. She decided not to put her gloves on so that James might see that she wasn't there to fight. Of course, she would evade and defend herself if necessary. Then she allowed herself to think of Joy. I'm going to make it through this. I will see him again. With that, she pulled the handle and stepped through the doorway.

Everything looked too still, sounded too quiet. “James,” she called, looking around warily. “I know you're here. I don't want to fight you. I need to talk to you about Jenova.”

"Do you have her with you?" James asked, looking at her. "Because if you don't, you will die where you stand." His eyes were glowing green, like Sephiroth's Mako enhanced eyes.

"Yeah I am." Chuck said. "I've got Squall in me." They arrived at the TV station in time to see Mariah run in. "She must be an Inhabitor too." he said. "Let's go!" He rushed past the police and slid under the tape, racing up the stairs after Mariah.

It took every bit of Mariah's will for her to stand her ground. “James, hear me out,” she said, unnerved that she could only hear him but not see him. “Marcus knows where Jenova is, and he's getting her right now. But he needs more time. It's just not humanly possible for Jenova to be brought to you within an hour. Surely you'll be willing to wait just a little longer to be reunited with your Mother.” She hesitated and clenched her fist before saying the last part. “If Marcus comes back without Jenova...then you can take my life. That's how you know I'm telling the truth.” She hoped now with all of her being that Marcus would find Jenova, and bring her soon, before James lost his patience.

"You all heard my conditions. Since you have admitted that we will not get Jenova in the time limit, I will summon the meteor now." he said, raising his arm. It started glowing with the power of the Black Materia. "You now have until the meteor strikes the planet to give her to us."

Just then, Chuck ran into the room holding the Gunblade. "I'm Chuck Lions." he said to Mariah. "I've got Squall from Final Fantasy 8."

“James, please, stop!” Mariah screamed. She was now able to spot James from the glowing Black Materia.

Just then a man came in wielding a gunblade, and quickly introduced himself.

“Mariah Gates. Tifa Lockhart from VII,” she replied. Negotiating with James hadn't worked, so now she knew there was no choice but to fight. At least this newcomer, Chuck, was here to help. She put on her gloves and assumed a battle-ready stance.

(OOC: Not-with-a-wimper has given me permission to move his character in this post.)

Marcus nodded, time was running out, and he felt it. He then grabbed August and bolted. "Sorry for running with you but there is no damn time!" ,Marcus yelled. Vincent instantly gave Marcus the abiltity to ghost cloak form, and in a flash they were downstairs infront of the govenor who was fighting to get to see his son. "Dad, give me your best piolet and a group of five men. There is no time to discuss this!" Marcus yelled. His dad was confused as to where this sudden confidence came from, but he nodded in agreement. In no less than ten minutes their team were gathered up and on their way to Antartica.

"Vincent, when did you come up with the idea of going to Antartica, and why would Jenova be there???" ,he asked. "While I we were with Joy he mentioned the buster sword in Alaska. I searched your memories and noticed that the exact polar opposite of Alaska is found in Antartica. The jaded history of the buster sword and Jenova leads me to believe that Jenova will be located on an opposing side. So, that is my hypothesis, and I hope I'm right. Otherwise this world will get a makeover," Vincent thought darkly.

'This is the fastest model jet in the world, we should be able to reach the location in just thirty-four minutes...thats too late!!!" Marcus thought, "Waiiit..."

"Someone! Give me a phone!!!" Marcus yelled, and the man next to him gave him his phone. He quickly made a call (this is a government plane, they can actually call people, and it's soooo not fair.) to his dad. "Dad! Don't you play pool with the president every other month? Ask him to launch thirty of our ICBM's at the meteor, surely the scientist have caught it and are freaking right? Well shoot it, and buy us some time!!" Marcus said at the phone, "And dad, don't play this off. I'm serious!" He hung up and then began to plan out his next move.

"Well dang," said August, finally over the shock from all that'd happened. Getting drug out of a hospital and to a plane, then flying to Antarctica to retrieve this "Jenova" so a crazy host and inhabiter won't destroy the world? That was a lot to take in, even for him. "So what's the plan once we get to Antarctica?" Vaan asked Vincent, through August. "Not that I need one, it's just that you seem like a "plan" sort of guy."

(I think now it is time to introduce a character, another one. We need more villians. I'm going to introduce her here, but if you want a full bio, PM me.)

Joy sat in the train, worried. The news was broadcasted all over the train. And Mariah was about to fight James. He shook it out of his head. As much as it hurt him, he had to push Mariah out of his mind. He couldn't be distracted. The train contiuned on, and it was snowing. Hard. Just as it rounded a bend, the tracks exploded. As the train smashed into the ground, everything went blurry in Joy's vision. He groaned, and sat up. Everyone in his car was dead. And then he heard a voice. "Come out, Inhabitor, I know you're in there."

Joy, trying not to be scared, examined the voice. It sounded like a woman's voice. A voice that was deep, and sounded like it had been around since time began. He looked from behind a piece of metal, and saw a woman floating in the distance. His heart was beating so fast he thought it would beat right out of his chest. The woman looked like she would blast him to pieces in seconds, WITH the Buster Sword, And he didn't have it. But he wasn't going to act weak. He walked out from behind the piece of metal, and called, "Who are you?"

The woman smiled wickedly at him. "So, you decide to come out of your shell, Cloud. But you are still a baby, with much to learn." Joy cocked his head to the side. "Are you crazy?" He knew it would probably get him killed, but oh, well. The cocky smile faded from her lips, being replaced by a snarl. "Now you're dead." Joy nodded, "Okay, but can I at least know your name and Inhabitor?" The smile came back to her lips. "Livia Whitley, Ultimecia is my Inhabitor."

OOC: Oh. Didn't properly read that post. Where should I have Sara pop up into?

(If you want, you could say she followed him.)

"The plan is simple, Vincent says that Jenova is there, and we'll simply grab "her" then leave. Though, he doesn't think it'll be that simple, but he thinks it's better to be optimistic," Marcus said gloomily. He closed his eyes and let Vincent 'show' him what they were looking for. He hoped they'd be on time. Meanwhile his father was on line with the president, who was in a video conferance with the rest of the world, and they were all freaking about the meteor. An agreement was in order.

OOC:

Hey guys. We're officially moving soon so my house is a mess. I won't have internet for quite some time and when I do have internet it'll only be for school. So I'm sadly having to quit this roleplay. It was lots of fun and I'm sure you all will make it even greater while I'm gone. Someone can take my character Sara or just have her fade out. Whatever you guys want to do. I'm sorry I have to quit but you know how life gets. Have fun roleplaying! See you all later. (:

(So you guys want to get back to this RP? I just don’t want it to die yet, because IDK about anyone else, but I was having fun! :D I would make another post about my character, but my last post kind of has her stuck at the moment. LOL looking at you, Azure Flame.)

(I'm waiting for SkyRaptor to post getting there.)

(OOC: I'm kinda stuck with Damion right now, but I could have Scardigne do something if you'd like.)

(@Azure Flame: Is SkyRaptor following this thread? LOL tell your sister to come back! xP

@Not-with-a-whimper: Sounds good to me! Maybe Scardigne could catch up with Mariah, James, and Chuck, or August and Marcus, or Joy?)

(Actually, I think she's thinking about leaving, don't know why though)

(Awww lame. T.T)

The plane landed, and then Marcus stepped out. It was freaking cold, but he had to do this. He was so close to Jenova he could taste it...eww. He didn't want to think about carrying a head off to give to a homicidal maniac. He waited for August to show up...maybe he would carry the gross head...

August stepped off of the plane and into the friged air. "Burr! It's freezing out here!" he exclaimed.

"Hey, August," interjected Vaan, "now would be the perfect time to work on synching up. Try using a much less powerful but continuous version of Inferno."

"Well, it's worth a shot," thought August, and called forth the concurrence Inferno to cloak himself in fire. "Ah, much better!" August said aloud as he walked over to stand by Marcus. He was already feeling the toll that using that much energy was taking on him, but he could also feel Vaan's energy, an extensive bank of power just waiting to be used.

"So," he asked, "where're we headed to find this "Jenova" everyone's so crazy about?"

"Vincent thinks that she should be about twenty feet away. Which isn't far, but considering it's negative thirty degrees out here, and the tempeture is dropping...it'll be hard as Hell to get to her...." Marcus said with a sigh... He then began to trudge through the snow...it was dark, but he felt he was getting close. "Hey...wait. August do you think you could shoot a fire spell into the air?" Marcus asked.

"Fire spell? Nope, Vaan says that spells were always more Penello and Fran's thing. I could amp up this concurrence, though, and increase the power of the fire around me. It'll have to be quick because I don't have much energy to go off of," August answered matter-of-factly. August then began to put off massive amounts of heat as the fire around him grew in spite of the harsh conditions. Knowing that his time with this was short, he rushed forward as fast as he could, a lot of ice pooling into water at his feet.

(I asked SkyRaptor, and she told me that she has indeed dropped out of this RP, so maybe we could move on now? ^.^; )
