I'd like to focus a bit on the statement I bolded withing the quote.

 

"Enemies with hearts of pure light"

 

Could it be the Dream Eaters? They are the only enemies in the Dream Realm after all.

 

So that whole Dream Eaters are the new Heartless speculation is becoming kind of literal now. Except they aren't creatures of darkness, they are creatures of light.

 

Also, if this were true, any released heart of pure light would turn into a Dream Eater.

 

Those with hearts of pure light are the 7 princesses of heart, children, and Ven.

 

Now, as we see, a person with a heart of pure light without their heart is left in an unconscious (and apparently unaging) state. Say their hearts did not find a host or got released from their host.

 

Their hearts will go somewhere.

 

I presume those hearts turn into Dream Eaters

 

This, however, did not happen to the hearts of the princesses, as their hearts were used to create the Keyblade of People's Hearts.

 

The Dream Eaters are probably Nightmares (for the sake that you are beating them).

 

So now if Sora and Riku defeat any, hearts of pure light will be released.

 

So they essentially will work the same way as Heartless.

 

This is their birth by sleep.

Structure of that quote is hurting my brain. Corresponding being the main throw off. This quote has two meanings because of that corresponding in there. Either that or I'm bad at sentence structure...

What I mean to point out is that this seems to be an inconsistency. The interview seems to suggest that this was what happened in the trailer when it actually wasn't at all.

Let me be more specific. The interview specifically states this:

While in the long Jump Festa trailer the scene that this should be refering to went like this:

Mickey: Maleficent! What in the world do you want?

Maleficent: You know of Xehanort, do you not?

Mickey: What about him?

Maleficent: I have spoken before with him, about the seven pure lights of the realm. It is said if you posses those seven lights, then worlds are yours, see?

...and Maleficent's demand for the data world:

Maleficent: You had some sort of world of data, did you not? Hand it over.

Mickey: Hand it over?

Note that every single thing the interviewer brings up happened in the trailer with the exception at that one question. That time that Maleficent is referring to should have been their encounter in bbs which would mean she is referring to the seven princesses of heart. The Dream eaters, both spirits and nightmares have been said to be the darkness in the realm of dreams so once again things aren't adding up in the interview. I'd have to take this interview with maybe a bit more than a small grain of salt.
