I'd like to focus a bit on the statement I bolded withing the quote.

 

"Enemies with hearts of pure light"

 

Could it be the Dream Eaters? They are the only enemies in the Dream Realm after all.

 

So that whole Dream Eaters are the new Heartless speculation is becoming kind of literal now. Except they aren't creatures of darkness, they are creatures of light.

 

Also, if this were true, any released heart of pure light would turn into a Dream Eater.

 

Those with hearts of pure light are the 7 princesses of heart, children, and Ven.

 

Now, as we see, a person with a heart of pure light without their heart is left in an unconscious (and apparently unaging) state. Say their hearts did not find a host or got released from their host.

 

Their hearts will go somewhere.

 

I presume those hearts turn into Dream Eaters

 

This, however, did not happen to the hearts of the princesses, as their hearts were used to create the Keyblade of People's Hearts.

 

The Dream Eaters are probably Nightmares (for the sake that you are beating them).

 

So now if Sora and Riku defeat any, hearts of pure light will be released.

 

So they essentially will work the same way as Heartless.

 

This is their birth by sleep.

I think Maleficent is referring to either the 7 keyholes of sleep, the Princesses of Heart or something else entirely. And plus I don't think Maleficent knows about the X-Blade.

Their home wolrds are not involved in the realm of sleep and they are in what I'll call for the moment until given a better name, the Realm of Wake (You know, where Kingdom Hearts has been taking place in the past 5 [coded doesn't count. That took place in the Data World] games?). Well, there MIGHT be something having to do with them.

That's what I think. I seem to remember that being said somewhere, in fact I'm almost positive that this was what was said. Following dream eaters leading to the keyhole which can then wake up the world... something like that /rambling

When it and the door to darkness was sealed was when some worlds fell into sleep. The two events can't be completely independent of each other.

Well nomura hinted at the fact that it may be possible for hearts to be born from data, so if the princesses hearts indeed exist in the data world it my be possible to replicate their power.

Structure of that quote is hurting my brain. Corresponding being the main throw off. This quote has two meanings because of that corresponding in there. Either that or I'm bad at sentence structure...

 

It was a translation, and thus it could be different form what is actually intended by Square, but it is some of the best that we've got
