I used the search bar and couldn't find a thread on this (sorry if there already is and I missed it)

 

All of the main games have got one, and Nomura has already said this has the volume of a main Kingdom Hearts game, so I wouldn't be suprised if it got one. But the thing that would bug me about Final Mix is the 3DS has the option to add DLC to games, so it seems pointless to add a few extras to the game and give it another retail release when Square-Enix could just release extras as DLC on the eShop. Not only that, but that way people outside of Japan would be able to get the extras aswell.

 

Anyway, what do you guys (and girls) think? Will Japan get another Final Mix, or will Square-Enix finally embrace digital distribution for Kingdom Hearts series?

Really? I think alot of the changes could be worked in really well (albit changed a bit) to feel like they were just extras to add value/life to the game after you've finished it. New Dream Eaters to find and befriend/defeat, unlocking new abilitys from them, a new secret boss, things like that. If they did a new secret ending they could alsowork it so that it was just added onto the ending and original secret ending after the requirements were met, like they did for 2's Final Mix.

 

And I don't really think there was that many major changes in the Final Mix, enough to warrant another purchase, yeah, but it basically felt like it was just extra quests, abilitys, enemys + recolours, bosses along with the secret ending. The games core still remains the same, with new environments and the like. I honestly think it wouldn't be that hard to do as DLC.

Minus some censored cutscenes, and a dubbing of the games cutscenes absolutely nothing.

Well, KH2 does have those extra challenges in Olympic Coliseum from what i know. Other than that, I'm pretty sure that was it

Really? I didn't know that. I thought they were originally in there in the original Japanese version :wacko:

But then again, I suppose I can't really say seeing as how I never actually played the original Jap version.

A Secret Boss Battle with Caius Ballad from Final Fantasy XIII-2 with a Remix of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Final Boss Theme Invisible Depths.

 

2 New Keyblades and 2 New Spirit/Nightmare Dream Eaters.

 

A New World Based on the Mickey and the Beanstalk Portion of Fun and Fancy Free called the Giant's Beanstalk.

 

Finally, Last but Not Least:

 

Three Secret Boss Battles with Ansem the Seeker of Darkness from Kingdom Hearts, Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts II and Terra-Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep with Remixes of the Boss Themes Forze Del Male from Kingdom Hearts for Ansem, Darkness of the Unknown from Kingdom Hearts II for Xemnas and Dismiss from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep for Terra-Xehanort.

Hope so but for the West too the 3DS being region-locked we would have to resort buying a Japanese 3DS =.=

I believe it will, but cool your horses. The original japanese version isn't out yet and you are already asking about the final mix. Patience young grasshopper. Time will tell. But I believe it will have one cause they are treating it as a main game.

Nomura said that like Birth by Sleep, the story will be on par with that of a numbered title.

Birth by Sleep got its Final Mix, so it's possible that 3D will get one, too.

I vote for extra content! and I am guessing there will be Final Mix because it would take sometime to make KH3 after this release so Nomura won't leave us hanging to nothing. BBS is a handheld but it did get a Final Mix release so I would say yes we might.

tutti frutti. At this point in the series, there's not a doubt in my mind that there's going to be a final mix/ re: version of the game. Every game in the series so far, with the exclusion of KHDays, has had a re-released with extra content of some sort. Even if there really is, it will more than likely be a japanese exclusive.
