As we heard from the latest interview a little while back, a big part of this game will be based around the phrase "darkness becomes light, light falls into darkness" from what you can see in the box art Mickey has a desperate look as he tries to catch Sora while he's falling and Riku is seen staring up into the heavens behind him. Could this be proof that Sora will fall into darkness as he tries to withstand the memories of Roxas, Xion and Ventus like Namine predicted in Re:Coded? What do you guys think?

Don't spoil our fun :P Artwork has symbolism and we're trying to find the symbolism here.

Not always it does, but not usually artwork has symbolism. I'm just trying to be realistic here!

Box Arts always hold some element of the game in it!

And I just noticed that mickey & sora is wearin the same thing! hmmmm

Yeah,in this case, the characters, that is the only element. >_< I seriously doubt the artwork has much meaning to the plot people.

No, all box arts have some element of the plot involved! For example, if you looked at 358/2 days box art you could see a couple of plot pnts! The fading/vanishing background symbolizes a couple of things. First.....the fading/vanishing background can either represent how the story of that time was forgotten by every1 or how xion faded away from everybodies memories........Well that is the same thing.

And also from by looking at the box art from left to right.....it tells you the story somewhat. Everything at the left is before roxas was born hence the whiteness. And when you go to the right you see differents pnts of the story. Roxas meeting Xion......Hanging out with Axel.......Meeting with Xion at the clock tower 4 the last time. And as well as meeting/battling riku.......and him w/ the digital twilight town(the computer that controls the program)

I do think something is going to happen to Sora. There is a lot of evidence leaning toward it.

Light will drop into darkness

Sora will drop into darkness

It's obvious

If the box art is a spoiler why is it mickey trying to save him and not riku? If sora does fall into the darkness or is captured by xehanort probably the people Sora saves would come to his aid to help him not just mickey, donald, goofy, and riku. What if him falling into darkness leads him to finding Aqua and Ansem The Wise in the real of Darkness???

Days' box art has a huge spoiler! Axel is eating ice cream. Eating ice cream is all they do for 90% of the game.

Excuse me,but your twisting the cover art so it makes it sound like it DOES have symbolism. For example, who says that is the digital twilight town? it could be the real one! But anyways, things can be twisted,and/or mis-interprited!

that's not the computer, it's the skyscraper from TWTNW

It shows the palm tree and a bush that you see on destiny island, the clock tower you see in twilight town, the skyscraper in the world that never was, and the five characters this game is mostly around. Now I don't see how this cover art is spoiler-ish, it has the characters that are in the game and shows some of the worlds. Now im not bashing on your statement but honestly I don't see how this cover art gave any of the game way. I mean look at the cover of Kingdom Hearts, they didnt even use that world and that world was the world that never was, they used that in Kingdom Hearts 2, now would you say that cover spoiled the second or first game, probably not, again I'm not bashing on your statement. I'm just saying I don't see how this cover art or the cover art of Dream Drop Distance gives any spoilers, grant it I haven't played Dream Drop Distance yet but again peole are just going off on speculationgs about oh light falls into darkness something is gonna happen to sora where he will fail the test or go to the darkness. Thats why I don't like to speculate on a game, granted I have done it but I try not to. Anyway, I'm just saying that as far as I know the cover dosen't give a spoiler or anything, it just looks firetrucking awesome.

This makes me take back what I said...

Although, look even closer, you can see that Sora's eyes are closed (his pose is even similar to when we see someone going to their Dive to the Heart) and Riku's are open. Maybe instead of Sora falling to Darkness, necessarily, he'll fall even further than the Dream worlds and begin a sleep within his Dive. Maybe that's where he'll meet and "help" those connected. Ven, Roxas, maybe even a ghost if Xion.

This is along the lines of what I'm thinking. I don't think Sora will fall into darkness so much as fall into himself - only this way can he, I think, confront those whose hearts are supposedly residing within his (TVA, Roxas, Xion, Axel, Namine)

I hope Sora will get his 'Dark' Form, that is all.

It will look badass.

well they are in the dream world, and Riku is the only real one beside him .. if it turns out Mickey has to enter the realm to save him and Riku somehow passes the exam alone without Sora, it would make a lot of sense for the cover to look like this. you never know, and for all of you that want to say Nomura wouldn't do this, just see it as what if, he did say the ending was going to be a bit different this time around and full of surprises.

why the hell is riku so hench and and sora's legs so flimsy 0_o

Riku finds the Light.

Sora falls into Darkness.

So. Does this mean he will escape the Realm of Darkness with Aqua? failed theory

birth by sleep volume 2 anyone?

they're in the dream world .. he's not going to magically warp to the realm of darkness

I think the worst scenario for me is Sora trapped in the Realm of Sleep. But since Nomura actually hint that the ending will be 'shocking' then everything can be taken into account such as people saying Sora is falling to darkness which could shock anyone I suppose. But I don't think the plot will that be easy to figure out especially by just looking at the Art box itself.

Nomura is probably doing what he does best which is making you think that way but in reality it is completely different lol..

In any case, I think that:

I don't think Mickey's "desparate" look is too important. Don't all the characters in the official art look either too calm or overly intense (like that Roxas-glaring art).

so it'd have the same effect if he was calm ...

Personally, I don't think so, just because Sora has been the posterchild for Light in this series. No matter what has happened to him, his Light prevailed, even becoming a Heartless didn't dim his Light. I think it would be a bad move if Sora, who has shown us how strong the Light can be, would fall to Darkness.

But only part of the game is the mark of mastery exam. Especially now with the new trailer it seems Riku and Mickey fight Xemmnas in TWTNW and Sora is their so I would think both pass the exam. I like the begining of the trailer how young xehanort leaves sora with puzzling words as a keyhole appears maybe the 7th keyhole??

I have a feeling that's still in the dream world since Riku was still young

But why would TWTNW be in the realm of sleep? Its not like anyone would be able to find the place let alone live there if it is restored.

well it was overrun with heartless after the end .. maybe it got consumed?

I noticed too that Sora was falling down and Riku was falling up. I mean, you can see the same sort of symbolism on the box artwork of Kingdom hearts where everyone is looking up in the same direction while Riku is looking down the opposite direction. This will be interesting.... I also have a feeling that Sora's not the keyblade master because he just is but because of who's inside him. i don't know what i'm trying to say, anyone wanna elaborate?
