Is anyone else curious about what a Keyblade looks like without a key chain? Just wondering.

Okay, so you take one off to put on another, Keyblade disappears. What do?

Only way a keyblade can be without a keychain is if the wielder has been incapacitated permanently. If that happens it just retains the form it had before the wielder lost it. See The Lingering Will from KH2 Final Mix.

And I think the keychain switch is mental, as it's mentioned that keychains form from the wielder's experiences IIRC.

Who says you need to take it off? The guy can fly, control the elements, make force fields, teleport along with a bunch of other crazy stuff and yet the idea of taking a keychain off baffles you? He uses magic!

Is this an assumption or is there any actual evidence of this? It's not a big deal, I've just always wondered what it looks like while you're changing it.

I always thought the Kingdom Key was the default keyblade.

Mate, you're thinking about this way too much. It doesn't go into detail about how it changes but I would say he uses magic to change the keychain, so the keyblade changes.

I guess I am. It's just been something I've wondered about ever since I played the first game, years ago.
The universe explodes obviously
