Practice in front of a mirror and keep confident.

Don't let it get to you.

I have a lisp as well as a stutter so I have trouble reading out loud and pronouncing words but I never had any problems with being made fun of when I spoke.Mostly because anyone who did make fun of me I would just ignore because if they think it's so funny to make fun of someone for something so minuscule, they're not worth my time.

Just stay confident.

As has been said, practice. Practice in front of a mirror, in front of a parent, if possible. Remember to stay calm. One presentation is 5-10 minutes tops; you will not be speaking to these people for the rest of your life.

Remember, just like the excellent example above, things become a big deal when you make them a big deal. If you're confident, if you put your best foot forward, then what others think of you shouldn't be a problem. Take Dr. Suess for a good model on this!

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Take a deep breath and calm down if you go in nervous you'll talk nervous. There a couple things yo can try to take off the tension and ease the situation.

  • Look at the crowd but look past the people this way you won't feel like their staring at you.
  • Practise in front of the mirror or your family then think of it this way you are comfortable with yourself and family if you pretend that the situation is the same when the actual presentation come you won't be nervous
  • Make jokes if you mess up this will be your chance relax you as well as the crowd don't forget to breath
  • Know your material don't read word for word of your powerpoint make note cards with the key points of each slide this will not only impress your teacher but will prevent the audince from being bored from long slides of information
  • Don't lock your legs you'll faint
  • If your still nervous imagine the crowd in their underwaer and call them noobs

Words of the wise from the True Master of the X-Blade.

Don't practice at all. If those losers can't accept you for how you sound, then they are heartless.

Take a deep breath, relax and practice! Just like everyone else said. Practice in front of your mirror and maybe even try practicing in front of your family to make it feel like a little crowd.

Be confident, be relaxed and just be you! If anyone makes fun of you, ignore them. Like Koko said, they aren't worth your time.

But being relaxed, taking your time (don't rush, it'll make it worse) and having confidence will get you through it pain free. Don't stress, you'll be great :)

Calm down. Just talk the way you do. It'll become obvious who you're real friends are and who are complete jerks. Speech impediments are no reason to judge others and people who do judge by something so meaningless like that are pieces of tar.

First off, relax. Think about how you can better your condition if it's really bothering you that much.

As the other people said. Practice. Practice makes perfect.

Try doing tongue twisters. They help you articulate your words. Practice with a family member and make an activity out of it. It doesn't have to be boring.

To get you started try saying this

"Shelly sells sea shells by the sea shore"

Start off slow. Pick up the speed and volume as you get better at saying it nice and smooth. GOODLUCK! And remeber PRACTICE!
