Two people are waiting for class to start. They stand in the staircase, looking down at the school terrace. The first one walks up to the second one.

"Hey." The first one says.

"Hey." The second one replies

"We haven't talked in a while, right?" He states.

"Hm. Yeah."

"I've been thinking about something... But I know it won't matter to you." The first one looks down at her hands.

"Why's that?" The second one asks, hiding his face.

"Because I can tell. You don't give me the same look as I give you. I'm just a stranger, like everyone else...

"Ah... I see." The second one looks at the second one, and forward. "I kinda understand what you feel."

"You do?" The first one asks.

"Hm. I feel the same way." Replies the second one.

"Huh...?"

"...But no. Not with you."

"Ah. I see..."

"There's no way I could feel that about you. See that person? I look at them and see what you see when you look at me."

"Wow, I never expected that."

"But you know, there's not point on feeling sorry for myself, or just making myself feel worse for it." States the second one. "Someone else deserves that person more than me. Actually, I'm surprised you had the courage to tell me, when I didn't have the courage to even talk to the person..."

"I'll talk to that person." Decided the first one.

"No. I gotta face myself and simply get over the fact there's no way, and move on. You've seen me holding this object, right?"

"Yeah... you never let anyone touch it."

"Hm. I was thinking of giving it to the person. But... This matters much more than that. I shouldn't just throw it away for something that won't happen..."

"Is that how you think I should feel?" Asked the first one, embarrassed.

"No. It's just how I feel." Replied the second one, calmly.

"Oh..." The first one looked at the object.

"But I think you shouldn't let go of what you believe in, just yet. Because I believe you still have a chance."

He handed her an amethyst; his lucky amulet he never let anyone touch. She was shocked.

"You deserve it. It's in better hands now, It helped me a lot, giving me confidence, but also false hope. I gotta let go of that."

"... I... Th...thanks, I guess..." Said the first one gratefully.

"...Sure. I'm... glad I could help." Replied the second one.

...

...

The bell rings.

They each sit in a place. Shrouded by thoughts...

...

"I wish I could find someone who needed it more.

Someone who mirrored me...

Someone who I'd feel good about giving it to.

Letting go of the pieces, leaving traces of them for others to pick up, as I pick up new ones.

Sometimes, you just gotta let stuff go.

And you'll miss them.

But you know what? there's someone out there who needs it more than you.

Letting go of pieces, and picking up new ones.

That's how you progress in life.

You're just one in the crowd.

You might not know it but there's someone else that is going through the same problem as you. As well as people going through different problems as you.

You'll find the right person,

And then you'll help them, and you'll be helping yourself.

Let go of happiness for new happiness.

Let go of old sorrow for new sorrow.

Give up an old life,

for a new life.

You'll miss them,

but there's no better use other than where it was left."

 He remembered his amulet.

"It's surely something unique, but will its value be the same to both of us?

Will it even have any value at all to someone else...?"

The two of them simply watched the class until the bell rang.

He was the last person to leave the room. The class was empty, save for him and the teacher.

He slowly walked out of the class to find the empty hallways, and looked to the left to see if maybe someone hopefully would be there, but there was nothing.

"I feel weird. Is it because I gave it away...? Maybe I should've thought better."

Maybe my treasure belongs with someone else. And I'll have a new treasure to build, in a new life, a new happiness with a new someone.

GUYS

I'M NOT SO SURE

WHERE ALL THIS CAME FROM

I GUESS PERSON 2 IS SUPPOSED TO BE ME?

PERSON 1 DOESNT REALLY EXIST IRL

Anyway I'm not sure where this story is getting to or if I try to make it roam differently from my life or just try to make it the same.
