KH3D Siliconera articles: Flick Rush and Multiplayer + Andriasang article

Recommended Posts

Siliconera:

At one point, Square Enix teased a multiplayer Dream Eater battle feature forKingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and today, we have a better idea of what it is. Famitsu.com report that the multiplayer game is called “Flick Rush,” and is a local wireless feature.

In Flick Rush, both players pick a team of three Dream Eaters each, and then engage in a card battle game of sorts. Numbered cards are displayed on the bottom screen and it looks like you have to flick them up to the top screen.

Flick Rush can be accessed via Special Portals, scattered around the map. Winning gives you Dream Eater recipes for creating more Dream Eaters and additional battle commands.

Just like Hatsune Miku and Future Stars Project Mirai and Kid Icarus: Uprising,Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] utilizes augmented reality. Square Enix USA sent screenshots of two of mini-games, but didn’t explain how these work. I wonder if players have pop bubbles to free Dream Eaters in one of them…

Kingdom Hearts 3D supports local wi-fi play and StreetPass connectivity. Nintendo also reveals the game will have two save slots on their product page. Players will see Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in Kingdom Hearts 3D. However, Sora’s usual partners Donald and Goofy aren’t playable because they can’t use keyblades, Tetsuya Nomurasaid in a Famitsu interview. The 3DS game follows Sora and Riku as they take the Mark of Mastery Exam.

Kingdom Hearts 3D comes out on March 29 in Japan and is slated for a 2012 release in the West.

Andriasang:

The latest update on Kingdom Hearts 3D from Famitsu.com shows the game's Visual Works opening, and a couple of areas of gameplay: Special Portals, where you face off in battle against rare Dream Eaters, and a Flick Rush mini game.

The Flick Rush game, which is compatible with local wireless play, has you create a team of three Dream Eaters to face off against an opposing team. Battles are fought by sliding numbered cards, shown on the bottom screen, at the top screen. Win, and you'll earn medals which can be exchanged for new commands and recipes.
