*MAYBE SPOILERS* Common Theme in Kingdom Hearts?

Posted

Other than Light and Dark, could a possible theme in Kingdom Hearts be "redemption"?

In Reverse/Rebirth, it focused heavily on Riku trying to get rid of the darkness inside him and be part of the light.

In BBS, it talked about how Terra flirted too much with the darkness, and ends with him vowing to Ventus and Aqua that he will find a way to set things right.

And now it seems like

In Kh3D, Sora fell to darkness and eventually he is going to need to come back around

Back to BBS, they focused on how you can't defeat light with darkness, for it only creates more darkness (through shadows as Fairy Godmother explained in Castle of Dreams) It's almost like Kingdom Hearts is saying that one can't live without the other: Light can't exist without darkness.

Could a common theme in Kingdom Hearts be "redemption" about how all these characters took the dark road, got caught up with darkness, and is now trying to come back into the light.

What do you guys think??

The theme seems more to be 'Ambition is wrong, and you should feel bad' (See, Terra, Xehanort, Riku, Ansem)

And that understanding things is bad (See, Terra, Xehanort, Ventus, Riku, Ansem, Organization XIII)

Great messages, Disney!

well at least all of the characters have to experience darkness at SOME point. Where there is light, there will always be a shadow casting behind it.

*SPOILER WARNING*

I believe that Sora is so used to being apart of the light that when Roxas's and Xion's and Ventus's memories flow into him, they are filled with darkness. Sora can't take it. It's like destroying someone from the inside out. And when he tries to resist, he can't, because he can't help storing all of those dark memories inside him. That is why they must extract those hearts quickly, before they start eating away at Sora's heart. That's my opinion.
