What if Kingdom Hearts 3D IS Birth By Sleep Volume 2? (*Spoilers*)

Posted

I have been thinking the past few weeks leading up to the release of 3D, what if BBS Vol. 2 is actually 3D?? Considering that in Zero Point, it showed the clips of Young Xehanort on Destiny islands similar to what is in 3D. A lot of his background is covered through the whole "new organization XIII" and all his vessels and whatnot. Also, considering it takes place in the dream world, and the new organization is almost "born" in the dream world before Lea comes in, maybe bbs vol. 2 is not necessarily a game but an additional part to the story that was given during 3D.

Also Nomura has apparently stated for the next issue of Famitsu (correct me if I'm wrong) that the next game for the KH series will be the final game of the Xehanort saga. I see it highly unlikely that he would make KHIII (Or whatever it ends up being called) and then release another game afterwards that fills in more gaps, plus completely contradicts his statement.

Let me know what you think. It's just an idea that I surprisingly haven't seen anywhere else.

I don't think so...

BbSv2 is supposed to be the time between BbS and KH1

I agree with StrongHeart. Many things that are seen in the movie titled BBS Vol. 2 do not match up with this game.... so yeah

Also "final game in the Xehanort saga" could just mean that it's the last one in chronological order, as in the final battle with Xehanort. That doesn't mean he can't go back and give us more information on certain things. We still haven't learned about the period of the kings absence.

Ok. it was just an idea. though it has never been confirmed that it would cover the time between bbs and KH1. that is just assumed due the nature of the title

I just watched the video again, and other than the sped up scenes from blank points and aqua and mickey in the realm of darkness, all the scenes are from other games like kh1, or 358/2 days, with the exceptions of the scene of Old/young xehanort/xemnas/ansem SoD on destiny island (which relates directly to 3D), and then sora disappearing from Destiny islands (his delayed return from the secret video of 3D??) and ventus disappearing from Castle oblivion.

Idk. It just seems like they have set up a lot of that stuff into 3D. it even does a lot of explaining for some of the creation of the organization, like the very first scene when xehanort stabs braig.

As far as the king's absence goes, they could easily explain that if they go looking for aqua, assuming that is what he was doing.

And yes nomura could definitely add it on later, but generally when you end a series of games, you don't go back and add another one to clear up missing info. and that would really piss people off... haha

thanks for your opinions though! :)

from the video that i saw it looks like its supposed to either span across all of the games timeline or just have secret ending bits from across the timeline. the main reason i say that is because in the video Kairi is with the guys from twilight town at the mansion and that dosent take place in KH2 so it has to be the future.

Kk nevermind just watched it, it can still be about the time between BbS and 1. With added scenes that allude to kh1 and after.

Yea going with the 0.5 theory that it's between BbS and 1. Maybe it will explain to what she's been doing and show scenes that connect to all of this.

The thing is, it's certainly in the realm of possibility. A crucial part of the "BBS volume two" secret ending features Ansem, Xemnas, Young Xehanort and Master Xehanort - the key villains in 3D. It would also make the most sense, seeing as there's honestly very little room for more expansion on the Xehanort Saga that isn't a numbered title; to be honest, the side titles have been done to death in spite of their importance, and if anything 3D's ending and secret ending signify and focus on the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III. Deny it all you want, guys, but the third main installment needs to be the top priority here at this point. Thematically, there's absolutely no need for another side game in the Xehanort arc.

Besides, I've always interpreted BBS Vol. 2 as just a fancy name for Sora's aventures occurring within KH, considering that's a big part of what the cutscene focused on.
