A Nobody (ノーバディ Nōbadi^?) is what remains of those who have lost their hearts to Darkness. The first generic Nobodies are seen in Kingdom Hearts II; although Xemnas appeared as early as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, it was unknown that he was a Nobody. They are made of body and soul.

So if Roxas is Sora's Nobody, that means that Roxas has Sora's body and soul. But then how could Sora and Roxas coexist?

 

Random Thought: What if Sora (post Keyblade stab) had a fake body granted to him by a deity, or if Roxas was a replica?

I think it has something to do with Kairi. When Kairi saved Sora, she kinda gave him a new body, which resulted in Roxas having no memory.

Kairi as a princess of heart granted Sora a human like shell

Judging from how Roxas bears no resemblance to Sora, one could even argue that he is in fact Ventus's Nobody seeing as Ventus's heart resides in Sora.

No you cant ..a nobody is the empty shell left( the body ) after a human becomes a heartless.. Since Roxas is Soras body you cant say that .

Well, Kairi restaured Sora, and probably a "part" of his body. Roxas, as a nobody, isn't the whole shell, just what remains of it when the heart is swallowed by darkness (the amount of body that remains depends on the original person's resolve to survive).

 

To put it in a simple way, Roxas had half of Sora's body.

Your "fake body" theory is half correct.

 

From what I've read in KHInsider, Sora was a Heartless/walking heart from the end of KH till the start of KHII and didn't have a body. What we saw was not a body, just a projection. The people on KHInsider call it PPS - Projected Physical Shells, but I don't know if this name is canon or not. That's how Ansem the Heartless had a form, from my understanding.

 

Basically, Sora was the same kind of being as Xehanort's Heartless, except that one was from light, and the other one from darkness. The Secret Ansem Reports even mention that "Sora and Xehanort retained their selfhood even after becoming Heartless", theoretically because both willingly released their hearts. But Sora said he almost forgot about his friends, which happens with ordinary Heartless. Let's compare the two subjects:

Sora: A random boy who got a Keyblade and started using it with no basic training or previous magic knowledge.

Xehanort: The most powerful and wise character in the entire series so far.

 

Sora was unable to create a humanoid PPS on his own (he needed Kairi's help), but Xehanort could. Once Kairi made a PPS for him, he was able to retain his selfhood and became the same kind of being as Ansem the Heartless. I think the Report meant that Sora was a Heartless during that point in time where Ansem the Wise met him.

 

If you don't see how it's possible for Sora to exist with a human form but without a body, then look at Naminé, she had neither a heart, nor a body, nor a soul, but was still there with a human form. Basically, she was just a projection, a walking PPS. Actually, given that the Secret Ansem Reports mention that both Naminé and the Heartless are unstable beings, I suppose that Heartless have shape because they use PPS.

 

 

 

As revealed in KH3D, Nobodies can grow hearts, so she may have become a walinkg heart at some point.

 

 

 

 

Also, due to time traveling rules, it's possible that Young Xehanort was using a PPS on KH3D, unless the Realm of Sleep defeats the need for those.

 

 

tutti frutti. I always thought that it was because of Ven's heart residing inside of Sora. Though this is a guess of mine, I had the feeling that possibly Roxas was able to coexist with Sora was because being able to borrow some remnant of Ven's body, if not Ven's entire body. I don't really think that Kairi had anything to do with Sora returning from being a Heartless. So far, outside of keeping the darkness at bay, we don't really know what the PoH are really capable of, which is something I think should be included in the story more.
