A lot of my story is inspired from Kingdom Hearts so I was wondering if you all could answer some questions. Also, suggestions for my story/video-game are welcome too. I'm looking for a unique-looking weapon like the Keyblade and I want my VG to be Rated E or E10+. Btw, the main characters are Hispanic(Main Hero), Black(Best Friend), and Hawaiian (The Female Love Interest)

 

1. What aspects of the KH Storyline do you like? Why? (Org.XIII, Unique Weapon, etc.) Don't talk about the KH3D Storyline!

 

2. What aspects of the KH Gameplay Features do you like? Why? (Command Board, Drive Forms, etc.) You CAN talk about KH3D Gameplay Features here!

 

3. Favorite Game of the Series? Why?

 

4. Do You Feel KH and KH2 started too slow? (Like Playing on Destiny Islands, or Playing as Roxas.) Would you rather have your games start fast?

 

5. I want my game to be Rated-E or E10+ and I was wondering... if a guy cheats on his girl in the story, is that worth a T-Rating?

3. Re chain of memories and Dream drop distance both are the most unique games in the series and the most fun imo

Thanks! But I Definitely wont be having Same Sex Couples. The Characters are based off my actual friendships and that would be weird...

2. I LOVED BBS's commands and command styles, so much variety and fun. Also, limits and drives in KH2 were amazing. And party members. BBS didn't really have them, only on certain battles

Oh Im not working on the game now! I'm not even in college yet. I'm just doing the Storyline and Concept Art for my Game.

Uh... why are you defining the character's by the quantity of melanin in their skin and geographic location?

 

About ratings, the most defining element of a games rating right now is its violence, followed by the level of explicit content within. For example, any swear besides firetruck will get you an E10 rating, but you will always get a T rating if you have blood. In terms of a relationship, a person cheating alone isn't enough for a higher rating, but it comes down to how it's handled. If you just have the person ogling another person, it'll make E no problem. If you say the person cheated on the person and that they slept together, or something, you'd get at least a T.

If you want to aim for an E10 or lower rating, with a romantic plot, simply avoid sexual themes and don't make it too steamy.

Oh, and don't make it gay. In today's society, that's a T-M rting by default (As well as hundreds of angry letters from parents )

 

I'd avoid comparing things entirely in terms of KH as well. KH is a great game and all, but you should draw from as many sources as you can, including non-videogame ones. But it's very important to avoid blatantly ripping off a game.

 

Finally, gamemaking has no age. You are slightly older than me, and I've been making games for years. Over a decade in fact.

Pick up somethng and give it a try! You don't need to be in college to make a game!

(I'd recommend gamemaker, there's a free version and a lot of online support and tutorials)

Would you rather have your games start fast?-No, i would like them to start off slow like both Sora did for three days on Destiny Islands and Roxas did for six days in Twilight Town but not too long, like say, at least about two and a half days.

I second the Game Maker Idea.

I bought pro and making games is really fun on it.

You can start simple with Drag and Drop, then go hardcore with GML coding!

Also, there's a message board to easily help you out. Look for Ventwig if you ever try it out
