i just finished my playthrough of final fantasy 8 for my "all the numbered final fantasies before the end of the year" challenge, and in the ending i noticed that when squall seeing all that random stuff(which probably will give me nightmares tonight) it shows squall falling with his head tilted back in a massive light, i'm not 100% sure but to my recollection this looks like the part where squall gets stabbed by the crystal by Edea, I can't remember seeing anything about that on any of the articles and stuff but i just think that it really supports the whole "squall is dead" thing. Anyone else think this? just thought i'd share

I think the "Squall is dead" theory is intriguing and is definitely more probable than anything but I prefer to think that the story has a proper happy ending and that everything wasn't just some sort of dream. But thats the thing about this game, they probably intended it to be open to interpretation.

The ending is definitely the strongest evidence of the Squall is dead theory. The vast majority of the visions/flashbacks are of disc 1, specifically of the arch and the area around it, where he was impaled. Plus he kind of spontaneously dies afterwards.

it's a theory, not a giant smack in the face saying HE'S DEAD!!! it's just things like that edea stabbed him with that giant crystal and yet on the next disc he doesn't even have any wounds, and the way that his life just kinda completely does a U-turn after that point

it's not really evidence that he died per se, but he says that, then he dies, then it's almost like he's talking about his own death, again, not really eidence, just irony

Still, cure lasers have nothing to do with cure being effective outside of combat. I will amend though; it's useful only during battle, and as plot demands.
