There's this guy I liked... ever since November 2011, and I really miss him when I'm not around him, but I can live without him.

I really wish I could be in a relationship with him but he says he follows the word of God and so he's not homosexual.

I just really want to get over him because even if I could potentially get into a relationship with him, my family would hate it.

I have had dreams about him-- but that's not really important to this I think.

So is there a way to just force yourself to not like them? Because I just need this person to stop being in my thoughts every other second.

Ever since I started viewing him as more than a friend I knew this was bad .__.

I just want to stay friends with him though.

I'm really sorry, Austin, and I wish I could give you a big hug. I know how it feels to like someone--a lot, and not have it work. Maybe not under exactly the same circumstances as you, but you could say it had something to do with beliefs. I would say to not try to force yourself to not like him, 'cause in my experience, that just makes it harder to let go. I know choosing to "not think about" someone is easier said than done, but you can try. Find things you like doing, like a new TV show, or a game, or book. Something new. It may not help you completely forget about him, but they can be small distractions to get you not thinking about someone for at least a small portion of time.

I know it's hard when you can't be with someone--either because of their, or your, beliefs. But you can respect him for what he believes in, and admire him for that kind of strength and commitment. At some point, maybe you can tell him you'd still like to be friends, as long as you promise to respect his boundaries. But maybe for now, you can give him some space, and have some time to try to figure out things.

I wish I could help you more than that, but I'd be happy to talk with you more if you'd like.

Don´t worry, it will wear off, you´re a teenager, almost everybody must go through this, get their hearts brokens sometimes and so on, so don´t worry : )

Find friends, have fun. I know how it feels. But someday you don't anymore like him that much. I quess. I have gone over all these, too. Sorry about my bad english...

Just remember that there is nothing wrong with viewing him more as a friend, however, if you still wish to be friends with him then you need to know that you must forget these thoughts of yours, or at the very least, put them in another part of your mind, where they won't bother you as much and then move on, otherwise, you'll be trapped in a cycle that will last who knows how long unless you do something about it for good.
