Q2 of 2012 is fast approaching, and with it summer releases. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance drops onto international 3DS' on July 31, but it can't possibly be the only game you'll be playing until the winter release boom. Luckily, we have some Persona releases between now and then!
(JP cover)
Name: "Persona 4: The Golden"
Console: PS VITA
Developer: ATLUS
Players: 1 (pending?)
DLC: Currently unknown
Release: June 14, 2012 (JP), October 23, 2012 (NA)
Persona 4: The Golden is the remake of ATLUS' critical Playstation 2 success, Persona 4. Following the in veins of Persona 3 Portable, P4G overhauls the original game, bringing in a slew of new material. New material includes:
- New anime cutscenes and voice dialogue
-New Personas, including new Ultimate Personas for the main characters
-New areas to explore. Not only does this include areas previously only available in Social Link events, but completely new events.
-New characters, including Igor's new assistant Marie
-Tag attacks between two characters, like in P3P
-You have a firetrucking motorbike!
And so much more that hasn't been revealed yet. New details are slow to trickle in, but look forward to new information closer to the release date.
Set 2 months after Persona 4, P4A brings together the Investigation Team and members of SEES for the P-1 Grand Prix, and event advertised by Teddie. There seems to be more to this than meets the eye however, prompting an investigation into this mysterious event.
Developed by Arc System Works (the developers of the BlazBlue series), P4A will be familiar ground for those who ventured to obtain the Azure Grimoire. The game focues on fast-paced action with both combatant and Persona sparring in the arena simultaneously.
The full character roster has finally been announced, including both characters and the Personas that fight alongside them. It includes:
-Yu Narukami & Izanagi
-Yousuke Hanamura & Jiraiya
-Chie Satonaka & Tomoe
-Yukiko Amagi & Konohana Sakuya
- Kanji Tatsumi & Take-Mikazuchi
-Naoto Shirogane & Sukuan-Hikona
-Teddie & Kintoki-Douji
-Akihiko Sanada & Caesar
-Mitsuru Kirijo & Artemisia
-Aigis & Pallas Athena
-Labrys & Ariadne
-Shadow Labrys & Asterios
-Elizabeth & Thanatos
Labrys makes her first in-game apperance with Arena, before only appearing in a P3 CD Drama. Like BlazBlue, it seems that each character has their own story mode in the game.
Again, it doesn't seem like a whole lot of an update, but this information's been slowly leaked out over the last few months. Look for more info, as well as localized information, as the release date approaches.
