Alright, I'm in 9th grade and I have a speech due on June 1st. I'm nearly done with it and if I posted the entire speech in here would you guys read it and rate it? I'm especially afraid of speeches since I stutter (Google it if you don't know what it is, it SUCKS) and I just wanna make sure it's good before I present it, since I'll be directing it towards 14-16 year olds, I figure this is a good place to practice since it has the same age group. Please just help me out and don't be a dick and say, "gentleman don't ask us for help it's your own damn speech do it yourself" no, don't be that hostile instead, if you feel that way, just say a simply "Sorry, can't help you" and I'll understand. Thanks in advance! :D

Really? Thanks! And no, it's only 1 1/2 pages long. I don't have it with me right now (it's on my school computer) so I'll post it on this website tomorrow when I get it. And thanks again!

I know you said not too, but man up. I'm in the 7th grade and I had to give a speech already. I might of been scared a little bit too, but I got I done (I did speak in a western accent even though I'm from New Jersey LOL)

I'll probably read it! But what's it about?

if you are allow make flash cards with the key point of your speech. Also don't just read off the cards if you are allow to have them. Keep eye contact as much as possible. Every few moment look at your cards (if you have them) to remember what you want to say and where you are heading. Also i wouldn't mind reading and helping however i can. I'm not the best but i might be able to offer some kind of help

I stutter man. Th-th-tha-that mea-mea-means I t-t-t-ta-ta-talk like thi-thi-this. So it's VERY stressful and very scary speaking infront of people. Please don't ask me to "man up" when you don't know my condition very well.

Well we had numerous topics to choose from and I find space very interesting so I'm doing it on that. My main points are what it'l like in space, the planets and stars and possibility of life.

Yeah my teacher says we can have upto 150 words on 1 notecard. And I'll be sure to try and keep eye contact, thanks for the tip!

i know keeping eye contact is very tough. I just finish a Communication class in college and boy was it tough. It did help me with giving speeches.

I know. Here's a tip: Speak slow. Problem solved. You can thank Dolan later.

*facepalm* you clearly don't understand what stuttering is. It is caused by tension in the throat which results in air not passing through so you get stuck mid sentence. It doesn't matter how fast or slow I talk. It matters how much tension I have.

Yeah it's scary looking up at all those eyes just staring at you. That's what always gets me, I start stuttering then so I avoid it. I just need to keep calm I guess.

Speak slow. It helps. I stutter sometimes too. :P

7th grade speech in a western accent? WIN.

Don't worry, I'm sure that you will do great out there. And I wouldn't mind reading it.

What darkchaser said. Try to keep some eye contact and be calm. Just go up there, give your speech, and done. :P I may read the speech to help you out because I know how it feels to go up there and stutter. You'll do fine.

EVERYONE stutters but I have the actual condition where it happens much more frequently. So you still don't understand me.

I'm not yelling at you, 'm simply telling you speaking slow doesn't work when you have a condition

I got one simple advice for you when you do your speech.

Don't think too much. Think too much and your worries and fear grow larger.

Or handle the internet way. Say your speech in front of a camera, upload it to youtube so we can watch/listen to your speech.
