The Joker and Kefka?

Has anyone noticed how similar The Joker (Batman) and Kefka (FFVI) are? They both a have an iconic laugh, love destruction, don't care if anyone dies, both clowns, and they are mentally insane and hilarious! Has anyone noticed this, or am I the first?

I'm pretty sure Keflavik can whip joker's ass anyday. But I also think the joker is funnier.

There's something about the icon of a clown that lends itself to insanity and wanton destruction. The laughter and humor associated with clowns can be easily made into something frightening when shifted from bringing joy to bringing death.

 

Besides... haven't you heard of the healing powers of laughter?
