Tears running down his cheeks, he hold his best friend in his lap. She was slipping away from him and fast.

She was black and blue from the beatings her father have gave her. "Don't leave me, please. Not now.

Not when I need you the most." She looked up at the boy, she showed a small smile.

"I love you Romeo." She laid her hand on his cheek and began to cry,

In just one year. Romeo fell for this girl. The girl with the big brown eyes.

The one who was a smart-ass to everybody, the one who was there for anybody when they needed her.

The one who forgave later then sooner. The one he loved.

Now she was dying, all cause of him.

"Lanthe, don't die. The ambulance is coming, just stay with me for a few more minuter."

Romeo said holding her. They fought a lot, they had fun together. They told each how they felt.

Was this how it ends? Lanthe never liked unhappy ending.

"Sing to me Romeo." She said, her loud and happy voice was now soft and quiet.

Romeo smiled a bit, and start to sing a song Lanthe had wrote,

"Take me away, Take me away from this place. Take me home.

My dear Romeo."

His voice soft and sweet. He sang to her, and as he sang, she slipped faster and faster into the light.

"Don't leave me behind. Don't leave me. My dear Romeo please."

"Romeo.' She said, he looked down at her. "I will always love you. "

Before he could say a word, She closed her eyes and rested. "Wake up! Wake up ! Please Lanthe! "

He pulled her into his arm and cried. "Wake up! " He yelled, "Lanthe!" He screamed. "It's not fair! Why take her?!"

Why did God take her? She was so very young. She never did anything wrong but speak out.

"Damn you God." The ambulance came but it was to late.

Lanthe was gone, When her father came to see her the cops already knew how Lanthe died.

He was taken to jail, Her mother cried for months, Romeo sister Harry cried along with her.

So did everybody else who knew Lanthe. She was dear to everybody.

But to herself, she was worthless. She said nobody loved her nor cared for her.

"Did you have to die?" Her older brother Ken said one day. Romeo wouldn't speak to everybody for 4 months. Till Harry pulled him into her arms and said.

"Please. . . Say something to me. . . "

2 years later, Harry died in a car crash.

Ken got hit by a car and went into a deep sleep for 2 years. Romeo father died and his mother went to rehab for drinking and taking drugs.

Romeo became a writer, Lanthe mother lived very long before she passed. When ken woke he went to become a lawyer.

Lanthe sister became a singer.

At the end there were sad endings and there were happy ones.

But without Lanthe. They always seemed. . . Empty. They missed her being a smart ass, They miss her getting mad fast and helping them out . .
