It's pretty pathetic but

I'm currently playing as Sora and I'm looking for Esmeralda and The Court of Miracles

and I'm in this gigantic cavern where I've destroyed the gas machine that was depleting my drop points.

I've searched every inch of this cavern and I honestly don't know where to go next.

I keep trying to approach the black keyblade I see on my map but

I'm always running into a wall.

Help would be much appreciated. Please.

The keyblade on the map shows where you started from on the area, not where you have to go... you should go opposite of it, in most cases.

iirc there are walls you need to destroy so look for some walls that have a target on them

Wow square has really made the worlds too big this time, haven't they?

Your pets help you out here a lot They run to walls that can be destroyed. (I'm not sure if its all walls or just the ones so that you can continue.) They should like run to it with an "!" above their head

You'll get a message saying "Your Dream Eaters seem to be on to something!" Go over to them and smash the wall where they're standing. That should do it

This happened to me too. These worlds are huge... I like it.

What happens if you pets have found all the walls with targets on them? Or are there more that I'm not aware of?

Those should be all. There might be some secret Treasure chests or something though.

I used the Strategy Guide to help me navigate through the worlds since there can be a lot of passages at one time or another.

Exactly like everyone else has said. In the caverns, or tunnels, there are secret walls. What I did was stay close to the wall, and look out for the target thingy (you know, the little circle thing that symbolizes a target?) The little target thingy you hit, and it'll take you into the next room, or lead you into an area with a treasure chest. There are about three secret walls in the first area with the Drop-depleting thing. I think there are two secret walls in the second drop-depleting area.

 

Make sure to look at your bottom screen also, (again, like everyone has said) which help you find the next area.

It should work I think I even got Thunder Dash from one of the treasure chest. I'm not sure, though. But if you're aiming for the Treasure Seeker trophy, take some free time and search for the secret walls The secret walls are mostly on the ground (where the pinkish drop depleting thingy would be) and sometimes up in the air. Sometimes, they contain really cool stuff. Also, there's a treasure chest in the room before you find Esmeralda
