Kay, so like a lot of people and I have been watching the uploaded walk-throughs of kh:ddd on youtube( no, thankfully it's not that crap with poor graphics and the irritating lecture by the uploader). So i came across this part where YMX shows sora what really happened.( Also i think you should know that i haven't seen the further parts so i'd appreciate an explanation that does not involve that.)

Now, he says that Xehanort left his body behind and went back in time as Ansem to talk to himself (o.0) and then set YMX on the path towards his plan. I also recall reading something about him doing it because he knew he would lose his memory after merging with terra so he informed his younger self about it.

Also braig told sora that instead of a dream they had sent sora into the past instead( how does that explain the dream eaters?)

Anyways, he further said that once ansem set YMX on his path he went through time to the part where sora's journey(in kh1) first began. He knew sora would be there because kairi was there.

 

So, when he became terranort, he lost his memory right? Later he became ansem and decided to use that to go back in the past to inform YMX.....but...didn't he lose his memory?

You know what screw it, can someone please, just give me a proper explanation of exactly what the firetruck happened? Cause i don't think i even understood what i just wrote. (T_T)

Sora and Riku were sent to the past so they could enter the dream world when Destiny Islands fell into darkness. They did in fact enter the dream realm, I think you just misunderstood.

 

Being Heartless only a heart (which holds memories), Ansem probably had some if not all of Xehanort's memories, unlike Xemnas.

No. They were sent to the past by Yen Sid, because they needed to be there to enter the dream realm. Xehanort is just able to track Sora down (don't know if the part where he explains why is ahead, so I won't spoil you).

Ansem SOD (Xehanort's heartless) can remember everything, because before he turned Himself and the rest of Ansem the Wise's apprentices into Heartless' and Nobodies, he got his memory back, due to the experiments that they where doing to his heart.
