Hum, i heard some users on the forum questioning themselves: Was Riku controlled (By Ansem SoD) earlier than we tought on KH1?

I was doing some ''research'' on the wikias, and i went into one of his images, and i remembered that his outfit...

Had an useless X.

I know Nomura loves adding useless stuff to it's character's outfit, but, could it be? Could it be a Recusant Sigil?

No, it's not. Just a fashion choice (with a bit of foreshadowing, perhaps.)

The Recusant's Sigil is something Xemnas uses. That was just the way Riku's outfit was.

I doubt it. Riku's x is made of strapps and the're used to hold his pants up and Sora's is just there on his clothes.

Sora and Riku randomly got a new outfit in KH3D due Yen Sid's magic, but certain extra parts were added. Riku appearently dived into Sora's dream and got a Dream Eater Spirit symbol on his back, and I assume one of the Xehanorts were responsible for the X on Sora's chest. But Riku's outfit in KH1? I don't see how they could have been responsible for the X on him back then. Riku probably bought that outfit, it was acuired through magic, as far as I know.

But it could probably be one anyways. At one point in time Xehanort lost interest in Riku due to his resistens to darkness, and in KH2 Riku has no X on his outfit.

I probably shouldn't think about such things as buying clothes and just accept it as a Recusant Sigil, if it is one.

If you look at Riku's back you'll notice that those strapps don't hold up his pants, they're just there. For no reason other than either fashion or as a Recusant Sigil.

We know that it was never inteded for that purpose. could nomura use it in the future? sure he could.

Well, Xehanort (young or Xemnas, can't remember) mentioned that the sigil occurs many places, sometimes less noticeable. At least he said something like that. I doubt that the sigil was placed on Riku in KH1, but with the current plot-related unravellings, there is still a chance that this might be significant in future games...

Yes, thank you, i was going to post an image like this.

So, okay. I guess, in the end, it's probably not a Sigil, but it could be used in the future. Thanks guys.

Looking into this more than you should.
