I might look into it when they fix everything. I never actually finished FFVII.

I'll buy it for $10 (it's apparently $10 ATM, but I have a Mac so it won't change my decision at all LOL) on PSN for my Vita later this month.

That reminds me, I still have to play it on my PS3. I started playing it, but didn't get very far and haven't played it in a few months.

they already made a PC version since 1997 and they had Eidos publishing it..........besides....I don't think FFVII needs a remake for two reasons:

 

1 A Remake won't get us anywhere in the story...it'll be the same game only with HD graphics and once you've done playing the remake.....you may ask for another remake on ps5 years later trlolololol.......a remake won't tell us what happened to Genesis & Weiss at the end of Dirge of Cerberus

 

2 A Remake by today standards of gaming will ruin the game......So I prefer for it to stay classic

I want a remake for the PS3. And people should have the option between voiced scenes and the style of how the game is originally.

I agree with this so hard. SE should never do a complete remake of FFVII. Sure, it would be pretty but since it's such a well loved game, if they decide to change anything, or mess anything up, they will get the full backlash for ruining people's nostalgia. SE isn't exactly well known for keeping to the original of their games. They change little things, and add to it. *Maybe* it would work, but if I were them I wouldn't risk it.

A remake doesn't need to push us forward in the story... but knowing Square Enix it probably would, they'd probably add some new bosses or hidden dungeons and such. And it really wouldn't be the same game. FF7 looks terrible. An HD remake with proper cutscenes and voice acting would be a fundamentally different game, and as long as they didn't overtly change it , that wouldn't be a problem. And the thing is, if Square Enix remakes VII right NOW, it'll be a lot easier to remake in the future.

And nobody cares about Dirge of Cerberus.

And I don't see how you could know a remake would ruin the game. In fact, didn't you JUST say it would be the same game but HD? The way I see it, keeping the same combat system, sprucing up the graphics, adding a new new plot points, and real cutscenes would polish off most, if not all fixable flaws VII has.
