So, why did he even fail the MOM? I understand that he chased after the dreams of Riku, Kairi, Terra, and Aqua but he thought the Organization was putting stuff into his head. So when Riku kept calling out to him, maybe he didn't hear it or thought it was a trick. I just don't get why being used by YX against his will counts as him giving in to the darkness. It wasn't his own free will.

^ It's not an argument. As of now, it is the Dream Eaters. That's what the scene showed him looking for and getting very specifically. If theres more to it, then we won't know for a good while. If Sora was doing anything important, he'd bring Riku, Donald, or Goofy. Any mix of the 3, but he's not one to act alone just to act alone. (He always preaches "My friends are my power"). Also, Riku was also gone awile just going to get Kairi, and nobody I'v seen is worshipping Riku.

yeah he always said his friends are his power but that doesn't mean he can't do anything without them........he was alone during the entire Mark of Mastery Exam . he meant they support him even if they're apart

Not really handling darkness has nothing to do with being a Master. Only Master Eraqus was creating the stigma that it need to be controlled and pushed aside. Darkness doesn't have to be a bad thing Riku is proof of that.

 

I'm not saying he needs to control the darkness.

Just if he can so easily fall and be controlled by it instead of having barrier, he'd make a pitiful master.

Regardless of how strong Terra is he was still possessed near the end of BBS, which could have been stopped had he developed a barrier to the darkness or control of the darkness similar to Riku, who was not only able to block it, but use it to his advantage.

Sora doesn't need the power of darkness, he just needs to be able to defend himself against it, otherwise he'd end up like Terra.

at the end of the day.....nothing of this change the fact that Sora is the main protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series.Nomura and his team decided for him not to become a master now because they have a lot of things for him in the future.If Sora became a master with Riku he might not leave as he did in KH3D.

So.with that,Sora has a Rank higher than the master rank when it comes to the plot.The Main Protagonist.And Nomura already said that Sora will remain the main protagonist even after the end of Xehanort's Saga

You may have to refresh my memory, but where does it say he was gone for weeks?

And "If there's more to it, we won't know for a good while." Meaning KHIII, but for now it's Dream Eaters. If it wasn't, then theres no point to that whole scene and him calling for them if he was doing something more important.

Also, I know he doesn't mean literally, but as I said before, Sora isn't the type to go alone if he doesn't have to. The MoM Exam he had Dream Eaters and couldn't have Donald and Goofy, and hated that he couldn't be with Riku during it.

yeah he hated it but that doesn't mean he can't go on his own...you can't judge a character just by a cutscene where he was sad that Riku wasn't with him

 

if that was the case you can say that Ventus is a whimpy boy who can't do anything on his own just because he said (my friends are my power and I'm their's)

 

OK let's say that Riku is the one who left.......people are gonna say he gone into another journey to control the darkness or he'll have an epic battle with Ansem or he'll defeat Xehanort on his own

You've got a point in that it woudn't take that long to thank the dream eaters and there is a chance that Sora was doing something else was well. I heard someone on Tumblr say that he went off to do some training, but I don't think that was it.

Look, there's forshadowing or pointing to something, then theres saying something then immediatly following up with what that meant. In this case, Sora says he has unfinished business. Then the next thing they show is Sora in Traverse Town looking for his Dream Eaters and finding them. So obviously the two go hand in hand.There is no basis that points to him having anything else in mind at this point.

As for them saying Sora is late, they don't say how late he is and this line also goes in line with what I said above. This is the mystery. It's not what his unfinished busines was, it's what/if something happened to him. (as explicitly said by Donald when he says he hopes he's ok) This could also just be a throw away line, but we won't know right now due to very little information, so it's pointless to even try guessing.

And again, I know it's not literal. I know exactly what it means when they say my friends are my power, i'm not dense. And Sora doesn't just show this in one scene, he's been this way throughout the whole series. If it comes down to a decision between having friends with him or doing things alone, he will always choose friends. The only time he wouldn't is if he couldn't, which hasn't been the case very often. In the case of his business being to save anyone or to stop anyone, that's not something he'd have to do alone and wouldn't if he didn't have to.

And your last sentance is irrelivent so i'm ignoring that. I could care less what people would say if it was Riku. I would give the same arguments.

Anyways, most sources say he went back for not the Dream Eaters, but to get some personal training of his own in, in which he uses the Dream Eaters to do so, I suppose.

Yen Sid clearly states that they both performed admirably. It's not about Sora falling into darkness either, it was more about Riku's extra work saving Sora. Lastly, It's not about losing, it's about something greater...

So what your saying is....nearly exactly what I said a page ago(except missing a few points)?...And even though I debated with Solid Snake, theres no reason to say what he said is rediculous (especially when he clarified more in later posts). It isn't illogical to come to those conclusions. Besides, he's right in the post you quoted anyway. The becoming a Master wasn't the point and therefor not important in the grand scheme of things. I really don't know the point of your post yonestly, because nothing you said seems relevant to what you quoted and you seem to agree with it while acting like your giving an argument.

Sora didnt return safety... thats why he dont achieve the title. But he gained the dream powers so the title is useless.

Yeah, sorry about that post, it was a little offensive. But your theory says that Sora would leave without his friends to try to save everyone, and why would he do that, without even telling Donald and Goofy, or even Riku. Does that seem like Sora would do? And I'll say it again Sora doesn't have to open the seven keyholes of sleep to take his test again, he could take any other type of test. It doesn't mean he'll take it again anyways, they'll probably pass him after the end of KH3.

And what your trying to say to Metal Snake is also pretty much my same arguments to him. Again, this isn't me worrying about you "copying" me so much as saving everyones breath and repeating comments. That get's boring to read for many.

One thing I didn't bring up is the Exam being anything the Master says it should be though, that's new enough.

Eventually, hopefully, somebody will realize that darkness is a power just like the rest, that can be use for light (coughRikuCough). I mean look at TWTNW in kh2, where Riku kicked so much butt using things like dark aura. I agree that it was a bit unfair to skip Sora for the title of Master.

 

On a side note, I hope "something" that sora ha to do has something to do with visiting Kairi, who was mysteriously absent from 3D.
