Help me with stupid drama PLEASE ;~;

Posted

Facts:

  • I have a coworker who has a boyfriend.
  • Coworker introduced me to boyfriend.
  • I made the mistake of letting on I was a princess from the geekling realm.
  • Coworkers boyfriend now texts me CONSTANTLY despite my one word replies / ignoring him.
  • Apparently Coworker hasn't been getting as much attention lately but doesn't know why and is sad.
  • I am NOT IN THE LEAST attracted to coworkers boyfriend.
  • Coworkers Boyfriend is acting rather like he's attracted to me.
  • Coworkers Boyfriend is drawing me pictures, making me wooden swords, and even sewing me hats (WHY? I don't know)
How in the world am I supposed to break it to Coworker that Boyfriend is making me elaborate wooden swords and drawing me pictures while she is lacking in attention? Isn't that a TINY bit strange, since I hardly know him at all? SHE MIGHT HATE ME EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!! I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or relationships, because they're both really nice human beings.

Any advice? I've lucked out and had a relatively drama free life until now, so I have no idea what to do. I definitely want to do SOMETHING before this explodes in my face, though... So please help me....

Go to the boyfriend and ask if there's something going on. If he says no, then it's no issue. If he says yes, then you have to let him know that you aren't interested in anything with him. Either way though, maybe say that you appreciate the gifts, but priority should go to his girlfriend, always.

well anyway if your friend's with the co woker it would be hard to tell him/her.... but if your not...it would be simple....

Hmmm the one word text responses ussualIy work for getting rid of pests XDDD. Anyways I would talk to him and tell him that he is making you feel uncomfortable it might not seem like the easiest choice but at the end of the day he needs to know that your not interested. If he continues his behavior I would pull his girlfriend to the side and explain to her whats going on, if she finds out on her own she's gonna be pissed so it's best you settle it on your terms just my. Just my two cents hope it helped.

So... talk to Boyfriend first, and if that doesn't work, politely inform Coworker?

"Hey, Coworker's Boyfriend, I'm not sure what the deal is, but you are making me a little uncomfortable with all of this attention. Perhaps it would be wise to pay more of it to your Girlfriend?"

How's that...?

^ What he said

But i think you should tell to coworker too.

Some people are just really friendly/flirty with all the people they meet, whether they realize it or not. Confront him about it (don't attack him or else he may lie) and take things from there.

Story of my life. ;_; I don't mean to be pesty... T.T One wrong move and they one word you for life!

Well, things went down. I covertly quizzed Boyfriend on what was up with Coworker, but he was being evasive, so I hinted to coworker what was happening, and they ended up breaking up, but they're both each others and my friends still (I actually think they'll be better off in the end this way for a number of reasons).

Now all I have to do is change my name, move to North Dakota, and get a pet magpie named Nevermore. To throw off Coworkers-New-Ex-Boyfriend. >:}

I know some nice people in North Dakota- you'll have a great time! Schools down there tend to have only about 16 students in a graduating class though. And for a name change, I would recommend Aloz the Destroyer.

Glad you handled it well- it sounds like you did the right thing.
